SHAZAM Character Breakdowns Tease More Villains And A Possible BLACK ADAM Cameo Appearance

Some new character descriptions for the upcoming Shazam movie are now online, & it looks like Billy Batson is going to have more than just Dr. Sivana to worry about when the DC Comics flick hits theaters.

Yesterday, Mark Strong confirmed that he's on board the Shazam movie as Dr. Sivana, and these latest character breakdowns from That Hashtag Show suggest that he's going to have some backup when he takes on The Big Red Cheese.

Based on these descriptions, Sivana will be joined by his daughter Beautia and his oldest son, Magnificus - although the former will most likely switch sides and join Billy Batson as she does in he comics. Interestingly, the breakdown for Thaddeus Bodog Sivana himself points to the villain being a full-on sorcerer, and not a scientist who only dabbles in magic.

Finally, we have Shazam the wizard, and a vague "mysterious man" description which has led to speculation that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Black Adam might be showing up for a cameo after all.

In related news, Ashton Asher shared an image of himself and Zac Levi sitting down for a table read.

Check out that shot, the breakdowns and a video below and let us know what you think. Shazam is set to hit theaters on April 19 2019.

THADDEUS BODOG SIVANA – “Evil sorcerer who regenerates from death with world domination on his mind.” Supporting Lead Male#

BEAUTIA SIVANA – “Sivana’s devoted daughter. When he does not return her love, she changes loyalties and helps Billy out.” Supporting Lead Female

MAGNIFICUS SIVANA – “Sivana’s incredibly giant and strong son that has a huge battle with Shazam.” Supporting Lead Male

SHAZAM – “Elderly wizard who is forced to give his powers to a young boy before the boy is ready.” Supporting Lead Male

MYSTERIOUS MAN – “Shazam’s underling.” Cameo Male

Can't wait. Hope it's cool! Billy Batson is certainly different and might appeal to a different audience.

Best DC character, they could've made a franchise just out of him, being connected to the DCEU might just bring this down too.

@ODanil - Wonder Woman is heavily connected to the DC Films Cinematic Universe. It's almost a companion film to Batman v Superman, dealing with many of the themes Batman v Superman dealt with “How many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?” “Maybe people aren't always good, Ares or no Ares. Maybe it's just who they are.” and how Wonder Woman learns better, as Batman did, as well as how he restores her faith in the world being a better place “Men are still good. We fight, we kill, we betray one another, but we can rebuild we can be better. We will. We have to” and when Wonder Woman said similar words to Ares. “You're wrong about them. They're everything you say, but so much more.”

Wonder Woman has a strong connection to the DC Films Cinematic Universe and it wasn't brought down a single peg. It's studio interference that put the DC Films Cinematic Universe on life support, not the universe or its characters.

Silvanna as a full on wizard?

@DENNISsystem - yeah, i wasn't feeling that. The scientist who dabbles in magic sounds way more interesting, as we'd be discovering this world of magic through his eyes in a way too.

Not according to director Sandberg.

Always a good sign early on when the casting is done right. Look at a film like Jumanji (2017) which nailed it with casting and appealed to young and older audiences alike, and has done terrific in the box office.

I still have no opinion either way on this movie, honestly. I’m not a fan of Sandberg’s other work so I’m hoping this can turn me around on him.

Sivana should be something like an archaeologist looking to find the black adam tomb with the help of his eye that detects magic.

That was Theo Adam and William Batson.

How have they gotten so far with Shazam, and yet they can't do crap with The Flash? Ezra Miller just sitting in the board room, waiting for someone to show up.

IronGenesis

@KWilly - Superman meets BIG. Sandberg and the writers have a simple yet solid foundation to start from. A basic structure based on a simple premise. Superman meets Big.

Sounds like Flash isn’t even at that point.
What is Flash pitch...
Spider man meets Back to the Future?
Han Solo meets 12 Monkeys?
Quicksilver meets The Time Machine?

Sounds like they can’t settle on a vision.

@KWilly - different director, production team, circumstances. Shazam has been building for a while slow but steady and with the shake ups it's only natural they allow down with the big guns like flash, Batman, and superman. They wanna get it right after all.

@IronGenesis - The Flash could've been such a simple solo movie tho. It could be like "Spider-Man meets Paul Blart:Mall Cop". An forensic scientist who takes his job super seriously but messes up, only this time he has superpowers. Give him a villain like Mirror Master or Godspeed, and boom.

But nah, they just gonna complicate things with a Flashpoint story.

The Flash still isn't worse off than Gambit. Flash only lost one director. Gambit has now lost three directors.

@Battabing - Flash lost two directors (Grahame-Smith and Famuyiwa), kind of felt like three though since Lord and Miller were expected to originally direct as they were writing the story treatment but left for Solo before actually signing to direct.
Battabing
Battabing - 1/16/2018, 11:01 AM
@TheUnworthyThor -
Lord and Miller were only brought on to do the treatment. WB never committed to Grahame-Smith. The only official director tied to The Flash has been Rick Famuyiwa.

TheUnworthyThor - 1/16/2018, 11:11 AM
@Battabing - What do you mean they never committed to Grahame-Smith?

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/flash-movie-loses-director-888994

And Lord and Miller only committed to do a story treatment but WB 100% wanted them to direct, the project was their’s if they signed but they went elsewhere. And then WB again tried to get them after they were fired off Solo.

Battabing - 1/16/2018, 11:42 AM
@TheUnworthyThor -

I stand corrected about Grahame-Smith. Where was it said WB wanted Lord and Miller to direct? When were they ever announced as directors of the film?

Flash still isn't as troubled a production as Gambit.
TheUnworthyThor
TheUnworthyThor - 1/16/2018, 12:00 PM
@Battabing - I would have to research other articles to piece that together. But I never claimed they were actually attached to direct, my intitial statemenr was Flash has lost two directors. My point was that to a lot of people it feels like more because of the articles that came out way back when about Lord and Miller’s involvement.

I don’t know which I would call more troubled, The Flash certainly isn’t trucking along considering it was originally scheduled to come out two months from today and it still doesn’t have a director and not too long ago has a page one rewrite. So they are both just incredibly troubled to me.

The cast so far looks really solid. Not quite sure about the kid they got for Billy, but I'm just not familiar with him at all. There have been lots of positive surprises regarding child actors in recent years, so I just hope for the best.

This movie could definitely be a quite fresh and unique addition to the genre. Probably my most anticipated upcoming non-MCU superhero movie for the moment.

MYSTERIOUS MAN wouldnt be Black Adam.
They wouldnt put Black Adam in a casting call if The Rock was cast as Black Adam before this movie even started pre-production.
