Kevin Feige Doesn't Want Fans To Panic; Confirms SPIDER-MAN 4 Is In Active Development

When Spider-Man: Far From Home was in post-production, Disney/Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures parted ways, and the wall-crawler left the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We didn't learn what happened until months later, but a tremendous amount of backlash from fans and filmmakers alike ultimately led to the creation of a new deal...for one more solo movie and a cameo appearance.

With Spider-Man: No Way Home now playing in theaters, moviegoers are already fretting about the character's MCU future. It doesn't help that Tom Holland keeps talking about bidding farewell to the role, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reassured fans in an interview with The New York Times.

"Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about - yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after 'Far From Home,'" Feige confirmed, referring to Spider-Man 4. "That will not be occurring this time."

Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal added to that (and we're giving you a spoiler warning here), teasing where Peter Parker's story could go next. "At the end of the movie we just made, you see Spider-Man make a momentous decision, one that you’ve never seen him make before. It’s a sacrifice. And that gives us a lot to work with for the next film."

We're sure Holland will return for Spider-Man 4, though the actor likely does want to take a break now. No one can blame him for that, but we're sure Sony Pictures will want this in theaters by 2024/2025 at the very latest. Jon Watts is unlikely to direct...unless he jumps straight back into Spidey's world from Fantastic Four (we're not sure the timings would work for that, though).

In this same interview, Pascal pointed out that they won't be looking to top Spider-Man: No Way Home with a bigger movie, so what would you like to see from the franchise moving forward?
