Spider-Man: No Way Home has dominated headlines this week, and that first trailer certainly left us with plenty to talk about. Long before that teaser debuted, we got to see the wall-crawler's two new costumes courtesy of official merchandise for the movie, but only one of those was in the teaser.
That was Peter Parker's "Black & Gold" costume, and the prevailing theory is that the hero dons this suit in order to counter Electro's powers (something he's done many times in the comics).
Now, a new piece of promo art has been revealed which offers a much better look at that design. Some have theorised that this is basically the Upgraded Suit turned inside out, but we're not convinced on that front as it appears to be entirely new; we also see an element of padding/armour in places.
Expect more artwork like this to be revealed soon, including a new look at Spidey's magical Integrated suit.
"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero," reads the movie's synopsis. "When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man."
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently set to be released exclusively in theaters on December 17, later this year, and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Wong, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Rhys Ifans are among the threequel's rumoured cast members).
