SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - There Are Already Rumors That [SPOILER] And [SPOILER] Could Return To The MCU

WARNING: Major SPOILERS for Spider-Man: No Way Home follow!

Spider-Man: No Way Home brings back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective Variants of Peter Parker, and fans are understandably keen to see more of them on the big screen.

Well, the rumours have begun! It started with a Tweet from supposed insider MyTimeToShineHello (the Redditor who leaked much of the threequel's plot a few months ago). They claim, "Marvel wants Tobey and Andrew back for Secret Wars." That would certainly be a fitting place to unite heroes from across the Multiverse, though it does sound like Garfield could be a priority for Marvel Studios.

The actor arguably stole the show in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and a later Tweet claimed, "Andrew Garfield could actually come back for MULTIPLE projects." Daniel Richtman has also backed this up, stating"I also hear Andrew might come back."

This could happen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Morbius (which appears to be set in the same reality as The Amazing Spider-Man franchise), or perhaps even a new take on The Amazing Spider-Man 3 continuing this wall-crawler's story after No Way Home set him back on a brighter path.

Rumours like these were to be expected, but the response to the latest Marvel Studios movie should make everyone involved aware of how much interest there is in seeing more of Garfield and Maguire. Both could return as soon as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, though it does appear live-action plans are being mulled over for both of these beloved big screen web-slingers.

Keep checking back here for updates!

That would make me extremely happy. Plus, Garfield really deserves a great Spider-Man movie for his version. Maybe have it be a story with Spider-Gwen (with Emma Stone of course) where each of them have lost each in their respective universes.

@Urubrodi - This sounds amazing! I want to see it now.

@Urubrodi - I kind of of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to lead into Secret Wars. With Andrew's Peter returning to his world and trying to create a device that lets him travel the multiverse so he can find a timeline in which he can save Gwen. Instead he finds a timeline in which it's him who dies and Gwen becomes Ghost Spider.

I have a feeling that they will appear in the Part 2 of across the spiderverse

What about the Morbius trailer indicated that it was in The Amazing Spider-Man universe?
If anything, Morbius is in the Venom universe and there’s no Spider-Man in that universe.

@WruceBayne - there’s a poster of Maguire’s Spider-Man in the background with the word ‘murderer’ over them, so i’m not sure where he’s got that from

@WruceBayne - while I agree there's nothing placing morbius in the amazing spiderman universe, there's definitely a Spiderman there. Hence the poster in the alley.

@WruceBayne - It's a very popular theory right now and adds up, I think.

@Origame - I believe the Oscorp building from TASM shows up in one of the trailers. May be mistaken.

@Origame - I’m not sure what universe Morbius is supposed to be in because he definitely name drops Venom in the trailer, there’s definitely a Spider-Man in whatever universe Morbius but there’s no Spider-Man in the Venom universe. It’s all very murky and hopefully with these movies we’ll have a better understanding of where everyone stands.

@Urubrodi - there is an Oscorp building, but not the one from the amazing movies.

@Waddles - honestly I think that poster is just a placeholder to hide a spoiler. As for vulture, I still think that's part of some multiverse shenanigans. But yeah, no sense is here.

@WruceBayne - That movie confuses the shit out of me tbh

@WruceBayne - the Vulture was talking to Morbius in the trailer.

@Timerider84 - I get that but Morbius also makes a Venom joke, so that means that Morbius is aware of Venom. I take that as those two being in the same universe. The problem comes in where there is no Spider-Man in the Venom universe but Venom is clearly connected to Morbius and Morbius was talking to Adrian Toomes who was in Homecoming but there’s no Spider-Man in the Venom universe. It’s all very congested and confusing but lets hope it all gets worked out.

@Menks123 - I’m in the minority when I say I’m actually excited about Morbius and to see how all this comes together (if it even solves anything).

@WruceBayne - It doesn't look BAD.

I guess I am confused on where it stands now. Guess it's a wait and see for now.

@WruceBayne - the thing is it could be any variant of Venom too, you keep saying which Spider-Man, but haven’t considered which Venom or which Vulture. They created the perfect situation because now you NEVER know until you watch, it could be any variant of any character with only the slightest change if they think it fits the story. It’s crazy as hell, but they seem to have it figured out.

@MarioT1000 - you’re absolutely right. It could be any variation of any character. That’s going to get confusing down the line real fast though.

Doing it once was fine, but I don't need more of them. I already hate how "Spider-Verse" is being treated as an integral element of Spider-Man.
