BOX OFFICE: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Kicks Off International Run With $5.5 Million

Some love it, some hate it, but The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has kicked off its run at the international box office with a very impressive $5.5 million. The sequel opened in 15 territories yesterday, with the four countries above logging their biggest opening days of 2014. In the UK - where kids are currently on a two-week school break for Easter - the Marc Webb helmed follow-up to The Amazing Spider-Man took an impressive $2.73 million. Its predecessor earned a total of $40.3 million there, making it one of the most important international territories for Sony. There are only a handful of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes right now (Captain America: The Winter Soldier has 222 in comparison to The Amazing Spider-Man 2's 37), so how word of mouth from those overseas and the verdict from US critics impact its domestic opening in May remain to be seen. In case you somehow missed it, you can check out my spoiler-free review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 by clicking here.

I liked both Cap 2 and this. They were two very different superheroes so they both had two very different movies

I don't care what Rotten Tomatoes says, or IMDb, or Metacritic, or whatever. I absolutely loved it.

Plus, it's not even out in the States, so there wouldn't be a zillion reviews anyway.

It's long because there are lot of characters and plot threads they deal with. Maybe it drags on for a little bit, but only a bit.

I was going to write a review, but I honestly can't be bothered. I'm going to stick up for this film, though. It deserves the praise.

I just want to know, the tone. Is it similar to the first one? Cause I loved the way the first one felt. Yeah it had a couple editing issues, but I liked it more than the Raimi films. So does this one feel similar? Or does it go in a different direction with the way its filmed?
