How am I a hater when I told somebody that Spidey was grabbing the wrong body part?

That's like calling someone a hater for giving you the right answer to a question you got wrong.

I've read the first issue of "Renew Your Vows," and while it does present an interesting new scenario for the Parker family, and I am interested in seeing where it goes, there's still a problem. There was no mention of the deal with Mephisto and it's an alternate reality. So while what results from this story will be the new status quo for Spidey, Marvel is in fact ignoring the problem that is "One More Day" and not really solving it.

The first issue wasn't a bad little read,one of the better Secret Wars tie-ins.

-Old Man Logan
-Future Imperfect
-Weirdworld
-Deadpool's Secret Secret War

This annoys me. The BEST Peter Parker/Spider-Man is not the teenager or the married man.
He's the single 20-something with money trouble & problems with his personal & crime fighting life.
Things change some say..I say screw that & keep it as close to what is best.
Let Reed Richards & other family guy heroes showcase that part of life,Spidey should represent the young,single,"swinging" hero who can't catch a break even though he deserves it by saving the day time after time.

I sorta agree with you. Pete shouldn't be a family man, but I don't think he should always have money problems or always get the short end of the stick. I personally think he should be a writer for the bugle. That way you keep most of his supporting cast and have him at a stable job which enables him to catch bad guys.

And not to be mean but its ironic that your name is sameoldthing and you want the same old thing.

@sameoldthing

People are getting tired of that Spidey, as keeping him that way would make him boring. We want to see what happens NEXT! Not go back to something he should be past by this point.

Sorry, but that's just how it is. I think Joker in The Dark Knight said it best, "But I know the truth, there is no going back."

No, he's just living up to his name. What would make it ironic is if he said he wanted something new.

Is anyone else concerned that despite the promise that Renew your vows hold, the All-new All different Amazing Spider-man (the title featuring parker) doesn't seem to carry that over?
RexBlazer1
RexBlazer1 - 7/2/2015, 7:36 PM
@BeyondTheGrave

Yeah, that is a little disconcerting, but they haven't really shown us everything yet, so I'd suggest we wait and see what happens. Not much else we can do.

@dethpillow

Yes, I read the book and how that world he lives in got the way it was. It's just how that story says one thing, and other bits of news we've seen in the last few weeks say different that's throwing everyone off. Bunch of "He saids/She saids" in other words.
GirlRage
GirlRage - 7/2/2015, 10:35 PM
I wish this was the normal Spider-Man all the time, I feel his heart belongs in this situation more. Not wearing a night light on his chest and trying to save the world like James Bond.
RexBlazer1
RexBlazer1 - 7/3/2015, 5:31 AM
@GirlRage - You got that right, though as I said before, we've not been shown everything yet, so we'd best wait and see what happens. And if we don't like it, there's always fanfiction at least.

@dethpillow - Hopefully the kid does make it out. Anyway, what we've been shown for the post-Secret Wars characters, the "All New, All Different" brand, shows a bit of a different Spidey than what we're seeing in "Renew Your Vows." Didn't see much evidence of the marriage and the kid, just images of Peter in a new costume with gadgets, a car, and him saving the world in a James Bond-esque style. So like I said, "Renew Your Vows" says one thing, Marvel's post-Secret Wars "All New, All Different" brand says another.

@GirlRage

What we KNOW is that after Secret Wars/Battleworld and the universe is reconstructed there are going to be several spider-man titles. The All New All Different Spider-Man will be starring Miles Morales the All New All Different AMAZING Spider-Man will star Parker but with the changes it doesn't appear that Renew your vows is carrying over, which makes LITTLE sense since marvel has acknowledged how badly they screwed up with One More Day and saw how pissed everyone got...this was supposed to fix everything, but if it doesn't carry over into the new continuity it doesn't fix anything and doesn't MATTER. Also we are getting more Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Woman, and who knows what else...me I simply want Renew your vows to stay, and personally I miss the Scarlet Spider Kane Parker.
RexBlazer1
RexBlazer1 - 7/3/2015, 10:56 AM
@BeyondTheGrave - I agree, Marvel is pretty much ignoring the problem, and not really solving it.

@dethpillow - That does seem to be what Slott is saying, and I don't really agree with him. Seems like he's trying to enforce the "You Can't Have This" attitude on us, which goes over just about as well as Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler splitting up in Jurassic Park 3. I.E., they took one of the best aspects about something and made it completely meaningless.
BeyondTheGrave
BeyondTheGrave - 7/3/2015, 2:02 PM
@dethpillow

You are correct sorry I meant Brand New Day, not One more day...but you get my point it was terrible and really giving us what we want and then not? Bad mistake...big mistake horrible.

@RexBlazer1

I have issues with Slott and his general treatment of Spider-man, the you can't have this attitude if your a hero is something that was ignored for years and has only recently been adopted by bother Marvel and DC unfortunately (which raised hell, for those confused look up Batwoman's engagement debacle).

You can't be a hero and have a family, it doesn't work...why? It did for years until you suddenly decided "that doesn't work for us" Fans want Parker and MJ together, they just do end of story. Some of us want to see little Mayday Parker being raised by her parents we want it back we want it fixed and we want you to stop F(#&(NG with it for the sake of drama.
