Hello everyone, while everyone waits for the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 it is time to speculate on a theory regarding the film. Now we have all seen the poster showing both Electro and Rhino in full force but also revealing a surprise villain, The Green Goblin. One of Spider-Man's most iconic villains that he has faced countless times in full battle and glory. It has also been revealed that Harry Osborn played by Dane DeHaan might be the Green Goblin himself, but is this true? In a closer look revealed that is not what he looks like at all. In fact and truth, he resembles more towards Andrew Garfield's stature and appearance. One for that many people pointed out the face looks all too similar. Another is a fact regarding the height. How is this possible entirely, there has been delicate clues placed in pieces. The clues to be exact is that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actually eludes the film Spider-Man 3 in many ways which is where the answers are directly from.

In Spider-Man 3, Peter Parker faced his darker side. He faced a side of himself that was unlike anything seen before. In The Amazing Spider-Man during the first film the character of Peter Parker often struggled between the balance of right and wrong. As in the sequel it would expand further on these values. For once we know the Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man verse has yet to face his real transformation which is not in actuality Spider-Man. It is that Peter Parker is The Green Goblin which comes to the full extend of his transformation in the end. Shall I also say The Green Goblin suit in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 judging from the poster looks exactly as New Goblin from Spider-Man 3. It is an opposite and completely polar to what everyone expects it should be but keeps the tradition of what a real twist is. A twist that is in definition is to surprise the audience which in theory this falls under what it means. Dane DeHaan's character has to thus be displayed as the hero.

Many will notice first hand Harry Osborn he resembles the darker Peter Parker from Spider-Man 3. In the end of Spider-Man 3, Harry Osborn eventually teamed up with Spider-Man and become good. The Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would face a similar destiny but not quiet as he would be good throughout and not evil. In reality again polar opposites strike once more. At some point in the film in theory he would take up the mantle as Spider-Man from Peter Parker. Harry Osborn becomes Spider-Man in order to try and save Peter Parker who has become The Green Goblin. Now many of you are thinking how Electro comes in play? Well Electro is acting as the filler of the story. Electro is Venom in terms of characteristics comparing again to Spider-Man 3. As Eddy Brock in Spider-Man 3 was obsessed deeply over Spider-Man he is overcome by hidden anger. From what we know of Electro now his destiny within the film would exactly be the same.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes as the exact opposite to the plot displayed in Spider-Man 3 in my own thoughts. Hence why I believe this could happen. Peter Parker is evil but he has yet to experience his full darkness. Oscorp is the central corporation that he is controlled by. The answers have yet to be discovered but he knows what the truth is. Thank you for reading and as always leave a thoughtful comment below!

Crazy-ass theory, but it somehow makes a lot of sense and I think it would be a really cool and interesting plot line. You gotta give it to Webb/Sony for having the balls to do something like this if they do.

Although I doubt it's Peter I think there could be chance that the serum contains some of peters DNA? So it looks like him? Highly doubt it, he looks cool but his hair just ruins the whole god damn thing

Maybe the Green Goblin isnt Harry. Maybe it's a clone of Peter Parker hence why The Green Goblin looks like Peter Parker....

I'm just theorizing as to why The Goblin looks so much like Parker.

However, great write up and interesting theory.

That is another great theory MightZeus and not too far fetched considering the messed up things that has beeen going on within Oscorp.

I lost you on the whole comparison to the Spider-Man 3 movie. But interesting theory nonetheless. However, this image shows the Goblin looking a bit more like Dane's face. Unless there are two Goblins and Electro is the sidekick and Rhino is actually Spider-Man. Yeah, that's probably it.

But why one of the main posters? I'm going to go with the dream sequence kind of theory that's been spoken about already.

Plus there is already some type of dream sequence happening with Captain Stacy, so why not this?
