SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Poster Appears To Feature Return Of At Least One Live-Action Wall-Crawler

While we can't say for sure, a newly revealed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse poster appears to confirm the return of at least one live-action web-slinger in the upcoming sequel. Check it out here...

Over the past several months, there's been a lot of speculation about Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield potentially returning as their respective Peter Parker Variants in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

For now, it sounds more likely that we'll see them in 2024's Beyond the Spider-Verse, though nothing has been confirmed either way (there have, however, been an awful lot of rumours). Odeon Ireland has revealed a new poster for the sequel (via Toonado.com), and many fans are convinced that Maguire's wall-crawler is among the Spider-heroes highlighted here.

The resemblance is uncanny, though we have a feeling this is just a recycled piece of promo art that's been utilised for this Across the Spider-Verse poster. In previous efforts, fans have noticed Hot Toys figures and comic book panels which have essentially been painted over by (lazy?) artists.

Still, we're not discounting the possibility Maguire will be part of the sequel, though this may well just be a random Spider-Man who has a similar costume.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.

While I’m hopeful Maguire and the other live-action Spider-man actors appear in the movie, that costume looks like a generic comic Spider-man costume. Could it be Maguire? Sure. Could it also be literally any other version of Spider-man from the comics? Yup.

@Reeds2Much - it is, you can tell by the design on the suit that those are more arms behind his arms

Let me guess:
He's just a background character

@IcePyke - I hope so. He shouldn't be a main character at all. This is Mile's story, not Tobey's.

As much as I'd love Tobey to cameo, I'm gonna lower my expectations and just assume that particular Spidey was added to the poster as an Easter Egg and if it also appears in the movie it'll be in the background without any lines as an Easter Egg too.
