SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Extended Clip Introduces Us To Miles Morales' Friends And Family

Sony Pictures has released another extended clip from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and this one puts the spotlight on Miles Morales' home life as he makes his way to school. Check it out right here...

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse boasts a rare 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and the signs are all pointing to it being one of the biggest superhero movies of 2018 (it may even end up beating Aquaman at the box office depending on how things play out in the coming weeks).

Now, Sony Pictures has released another extended clip from the movie and this one puts the action to one side to instead focus on Miles Morales' family and friends.

It's a fun glimpse into the young hero's personal life and a glimpse at what things were like for him before he became Spider-Man. That's something this movie will presumably devote a lot of time to, especially as Miles is going to be the
lead of this animated franchise for the foreseeable future (spinoffs, meanwhile, will reportedly focus on Spider-Gwen and company).

One of the great Spidey mysteries:

Why Miles pops last name different from his, but he and his mom are still together....

Its actually kind of dumb haha

@BlackBeltJones - Probably just because his creators wanted his name to have that classic superhero alliteration lol

@DnA - they should've just made his pops Morales and his mom Davis (black). That simple.

@BlackBeltJones - i think the real reason is because they wanted to make it very clear he is bi-racial(and the alliteration doesnt hurt).

i think the the in-universe explanation might be because jefferson wanted a fresh start for his son and not have him weighed down by the the things he did and his brother continues to do

@BlackBeltJones - im going to guess bendis made the name before he planned out the fact that miles uncle was aaron davis. he could have still had his mom be aaron's sister but im guessing he wrote this whole thing about 2 brothers and decided to just go with it

@BlackBeltJones - I’m pretty sure in the comics he said he chooses to use her last name instead of his dad’s. Can’t remember the exact reason but I know it was addressed.

Great clip. Lots of personality to it. Loving the animation style. It looks like a comic book popped up on screen.
