Kevin Feige Confirms That Marvel Studios Has Complete Creative Control Over SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

The spectacular news that Marvel and Sony had reached a deal over Spider-Man was somewhat soured by the mention of the latter retaining creative control. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now confirmed that it's his team who are fully in charge of 2017 reboot Spider-Man: Homecoming. "Well, I’ve known all those people for a very long time," he tells HeyUGuys of Marvel's relationship with Sony. "Amy Pascal, Tom Rothman, who runs Sony now, I’ve known for years. So, it’s been great. They really are supportive in allowing us to make the creative decisions to make [Spider-Man: Homecoming], but they’ve been great partners. So far so good on that movie." You can hear more from Feige about Peter Parker's awesome Captain America: Civil War role in he player below.

Another interesting titbit in the video is what the Marvel boss had to say about when we'll next see Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, and it definitely sounds like we won't have to wait until Avengers: Infinity War for the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director to return. "You’ll see him not in [Thor: Ragnarok], but an upcoming movie." Which Phase 3 movie do you guys think will be the one to feature Fury?

For more from the European premiere, here's a full playlist of interviews featuring Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr. (who discusses his role as Iron Man in next year's Spider-Man: Homecoming), and more.

This movie needs to beat Spider-Man 2. No exceptions.

@ANewPope - Agreed. That's a tall order though. Best Spidey movie to date imo.

I think it can, if nothing more that Spidey 2 is old now.

I'm glad MS have control. Sony doesnt seem to fully understand what they are doing with the character.
