As production continues on Sony Pictures' Madame Web movie, this latest photo from the New York set brings an intriguing new plot point to light.

Shared by the Spider-Man News Twitter account, the snap may not appear to reveal very much at first glance, but a closer look may give us a much better idea of what to expect from the story and how it brings this group of characters together.

As you can see, the cover of the Daily Bugle states: "Girls Feared Abducted." The accompanying photos aren't the clearest, but the trio pictured appear to be cast members Isabela Merced, Sydney Sweeney and Celeste O'Connor. Though their characters haven't been officially confirmed, a recent leak indicated that they're playing Anya Corazon, Julia Carpenter, and Mattie Franklin, respectively.

As for who did the abducting, we assume it's the villainous Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim). In the comics, Sims is believed to have acquired his abilities via some kind of occult ritual which granted him the powers of a Spider-Totem. Could he be attempting to somehow steal or syphon the powers of the three characters pictured above, perhaps?

That's pure speculation on our part, so be sure to let us know your theories in the comments down below.

The upcoming SPUMC movie will also star Dakota Johnson in the lead role of Cassandra Web. S.J. Clarkson (The Defenders) is directing from a screenplay by Morbius scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Madame Web was recently pushed back by almost three months from July 7 to October 6, 2023.

A movie directed by the director of the defenders, the very disappointing Marvel series, and written by the writer of Morbius, which is considered to be one of the worst CB movies of recent years, and produced by Sony, who aren’t known for their quality stuff. I don’t know…

The resources for this movie could have gone to another movie like the Raid 3, which I think Sony owns.

@TheSuperMex - director has come out and said why the 3rd one never popped off. It's actually kind of great why it came to pass.

@TheSuperMex - the raid 2 was only distributed by Sony. They have no control of the actual production of those movies.

OT: got teenagers and we’re watching Black Adam now. It’s a pretty good time at the movies, A cinemascore from your boy, I’ll critique it some other time

@TheWalkingCuban - A mate of mine took his three kids to see it and they thought it was good.

@marvel72 - mine are teenagers so their honest thoughts afterwards were it had a discount, vision, Ant-man, and Falcon. I said don’t forget Dr Strange. But they are teenagers so they acknowledged that they are simply characters they hasn’t seen yet and I told them about the “space race” that the MCU won putting Thanos, a carbon copy of Darkseid, out first.

My opinion, I like the movie a lot, and think it’s one of the Rock’s best performances. By that I mean, he wasn’t just the Rock, and I bought into him being Teth (Black) Adam.

Best performance still the guy on Pain and Gain. Probably untoppable. Second, Walking Tall and the Rundown, tho he was basically becoming himself, those were early and we loved to see that. Then he was that a lil too often.

Dude. Skyscraper. Or whatever. Killed it as a normal but pretty big every man.

Well, considering the reaction anytime someone complains about a female led mcu project, this means everyone in this comment section is sexist.
