More Spider-Man Reboot News from Director Marc Webb

Marc Webb discusses casting Peter Parker and the possibility of a 3-D Spider Man film.

MTV caught up with Marc Webb at the Independent Spirit Awards Friday night. Here is what he had to say when asked about Spider Man.

He's had "cool conversations" with "(500) Days" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt about the character and communicated with "Avatar" director James Cameron about filming "Spider-Man" in 3-D. And though he wants to hear more from Cameron, Webb won't commit to Levitt or any other face to put under the mask at the moment.

He has plenty more to say in the video interview below.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Isn't he a little too old to play Peter Parker in high school?

This is what I think the logic behind films being made into 3D is:
Producer: Avatar made billions and it was in 3D. So if I make my film in 3D is will make billions too.

3D only works when it both makes sense for it to be in 3D (like there is no reason why the Hobbit should be in 3D), and is not put in last minute (like Clash of the Titans)

Not a problem Josh I had it under interviews. It is after all an interview. Are they both going to stay on main?

Multi: Thanks. Check out the Tron interview.

It would be amazing for them to use Cameron's 3D cameras but hopefully that won't eat into their supposedly tight budget

i dont see what you guys have against the ultimate universe. i like it, but STILL, i like the 616 universe better. i know ultimate changed alot like the green goblin, but besides that, i rather liked it. the characters were well laid out and written and the way they were portrayed

After watching him in 17 Again, I'm convinced Zac Efron is perfect for the role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man...And he still looks young enough to pull it off...It's a no-brainer

grif- Umm you'd probably suck a dick to direct SPIDERMAN. A lot of people would. Hell, people get their dicks sucked just because they are in a band, so imagine Spiderman fame lol.

@Starsapphire.......Yep, that's what I said before!
movies like titanic, lord of the rings, star trek, jurasic park......they all could have been made in 3D!
impressive landscapes, oceans, and space shots make 3D worthwile! combine that with big big monsters and than you would have a great 3D! king kong would also be great in 3D! Imagine looking up in 3D to a gorilla like that or a T-rex! wow!!

I see him as Peter. But he is a little too old. As long as a Disney star isn't chosen, I'm fine. The needed to reboot, after the way they messed up #3.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If we're going to do a high school age Parker, I want to see an actor who would at least be carded if he went into a bar. I do NOT want to see any mid-20s guys playing teenagers. If we're going to have older guys playing Parker, we might as well just have kept Maguire.

And absolutely NO to 3D.

I want Peter Parker/Spider-Man to start off in high school and actually stay there at least for a while, perhaps in all three of the upcoming films.

Im with abw2 spidey was in high school for a fair amount of time in the comics and if they go the ultimate line then it's really a teenage spidey. Gordon-Levitt is a terrific actor and would be great in spidey 4 but may be a bit old for a teenage spidey. hoping to see someone ideally under 20 to play a teen parker. logan Lerman seems among the better options but keep an eye out for Zac Efron, he's been saying a whole lot of stuff about possibly being spidey these days like his oscars red carpet statements. he's actually saying more than lerman ever did so.....m getting nervous
