My own ideas for the MCU Spider-Man plot
Also sorry but no pictures as I do not understand how to do them on this site or make them work.

Okay this is not exactly a new topic ever since we got the news that Spidey will be in the MCU with his own movie (with only a brief scene about the origin since we have seen it before) but appearing in a different one before that (most likely Captain America: Civil War which I am cautiously looking forward to since I hope they can fix the issues I had with the story including that anti Reg won despite the fact that amongst things they decided it was okay to trap unregistered heroes in the Negative Zone and I hope Spidey does not unmask in the movie since I think the MCU will now get the chance to have a movie with a character who has a secret identity). Originally this was going to be kind of like a fancast but I ran into two problems: 1. my pick for Spidey is Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is already in the MCU as Quicksilver and 2. I could not get any more casting ideas though I did one for before my own little MCU though I do have one exception.

So here is what I will do here: first I will go over the one casting decision I came up with, then I will go over two possible love interests for the movie (my fave Spidey love interest is Kitty Pryde from the Ultimate Comics but sadly Fox still has the rights to them so it will not be possible unless Marvel makes the same deal with Fox they did with Sony) and then I will go over the plot ideas I came up with including the villains for each plot.

My one casting Choice:

Norman Osborn: before my pick for Norman would have been Adrian Pasdar but he is in the MCU playing Glenn Talbot on Agents of SHIELD. I recently came up with a brilliant choice: Robert Carlyle who is known for playing Mr Gold and Rumpeltstilskin on Once Upon a Time. The internet reviewer Erod the Blockbuster Buster in his Casting Couch of the Batman villains casted him the Riddler but I also think he could play the Goblin. When I watched him as Rumpeltstilskin in the flashback scenes when I got the first season on DVD, I did not have to use much imagination to see him playing the Goblin since it was like how the character was played in the first Raimi movie and in the Spectacular Spider-Man Cartoon. More on what he can be used later.

Possible Love Interests

Black Cat: I know she was technically in Amazing Spider-Man 2 but Gwen was in Spider-Man 3 and that did not stop her from playing a larger part in the Marc Webb movies. She could be a fellow student in Peter’s class at high school and when she meets Spidey as the Black Cat she could take a liking to him and to impress him she could ditch being a cat burglar and try being a hero. A love interest in the Spidey films who could help fight the bad guy with him.

Liz Allan: I do not know much about her in the Spidey media except for the Spectacular Spidey cartoon and knowing that she becomes Firestar in the Ultimate comics but I like how she was used there and I think that could be a basis for how she could be used in the films: a cheerleader who is tutored by Peter and takes a shine to him afterwards. Also if she does learn Peter’s secret she could watch from the sidelines and become Spidey’s own cheerleader or she could even be Firestar and become Spidey’s partner just like in my suggestion in the Black Cat.

Possible plots:

Vulture: this one is actually kind of simple: Adrian Toomes was a SHIELD scientist who worked on Falcon’s winged suit before he went to HYDRA and perfected the design deciding to use it to commit crimes since the military and government did not allow him to sell the designs to them due to his background in SHIELD (since after Winter Soldier and as shown in Agents of SHIELD they are now regarded as a terrorist organisation).

Grizzly Bear: this lesser known bad guy could be a composite of the Maxwell Markham version of the character as well as Crusher Hogan the wrestler who Spidey beat before his Uncle Ben was murdered. Maxwell could give us a flashback of when he was a glory obsessed wrestler before being beaten by Spider-Man so he uses a hi tech bear costume to go after Spider-Man and Grizzly Bear could be used as his stage name when he was a wrestler.

Kraven the Hunter: this one could be a composite of the usual Kraven as well as the one form the Ultimate books. He is the star of a TV show where he hunts the most dangerous animals but only cares about his pride and reputation as the greatest hunter who could not be beaten by any prey. However when he decides to target Spider-Man he gets beaten and humiliated, angered that his track record has been tarnished he undergoes experimentation (like to give him the strength and speed of various animals) so he can redeem himself by challenging Spider-Man to a rematch on live television and if does not comply he will rampage through the city until he found him. Yeah this one is kind of similar to my idea of the Grizzly Bear one.

Colonel Jupiter: this is actually my favourite of the ones I came up with. He is J. Jonah Jameson’s son and while he is probably best known as Man-Wolf he actually became Colonel Jupiter in the comics which were adapted into an episode of the Spectacular cartoon. Here the story could be that John Jameson on the way back home from a trip to Jupiter bringing back a space rock, but the shuttle landing goes wrong when the space rock starts glowing with energy which causes the ship to malfunction. Spidey comes in to save the day but John is infected with the energy from the rock and has to go to hospital which could be the catalyst for Jonah’s hatred for Spider-Man. When Jonah recovers the energy has given him Hulk like strength and he has to use a containment suit with Jonah convincing him to become a superhero called Colonel Jupiter to defeat Spider-Man and “make everyone forget about Tony Stark and his tin can suit.” However the energy starts making him go crazy and more dangerous in his methods to catch Spider-Man. It could be the Fantastic Four origin story gone wrong.

Green Goblin: okay instead of the usual glider riding Goblin how about using the Hulk like form from the Ultimate comics and it could be like a partial adaptation of the Legacy arc of the Ultimate books with bits of the opening arc from the same book. Norman after finding out that Peter is Spider-Man and he got his powers from his OZ formula (his version of the super soldier serum) he tries it on himself and becomes the Green Goblin, wanting to make Peter and Spidey his heir. To set him apart from the Lizard of the Amazing Spider-Man, Norman is actually in full control as the Goblin so it’s not even a split personality like in the first Raimi movie. His Goblin personality is just him deciding to have fun while in his alter ego and he could be going after Peter in both his Goblin and civilian form so it could be paranoia if going home he sees Norman talking to his Aunt May knowing he is actually the Goblin. It would show that in some versions of the story Norman could be as much a villain as his alter ego (for one example I want to direct you to Dark Reign and on a in joke we could get a scene of him looking at a picture of the Iron Patriot armor and thinking he actually likes it).

I think if Liz Allan becomes Firestar, she should be an Inhuman.

Not a bad outline. Would you please check out MY Spider-Man fancast and leave a critique on it also?

I like your thoughts, good article.

I am unsure if Marvel has the rights to Firestar. She is more than likely in the gray area like Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch.

She, Firestar, was created for the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends but she was a mutant.

I actually did not know Liz Allan became Firestar in the Ultimate verse.
