While the glasses that Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker is wearing in the following set photo may lead us to believe that this is him before gaining his spider powers, it certainly seems as if he'll be a little more trendy than the nerdy comic book counterpart introduced by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko! For more photos, head on over to Splash News by clicking on the link below.

With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

I could care less if he rocks a skateboard. It didn't matter in 2 & 3 he rode a moped. Maybe he learns how agile his spidey powers are on the board! I'm liking this approach. I still think they wasted a perfectly good actress for an MJ on Gwen...but that's all I'll say. Once I see a trailer...I'll tell if it was a good call.

Doesn't look anything like Peter Parker, but I'll still watch it on dvd.

@hoodedjester - He does look like Egon. Especially in the 2nd pic.

@TheIntruder - Not the Peter Parker I remember. Of course, I stopped reading comics in '99 so they may have changed his look since then.

Since when do nerds skateboard? True nerds wouldn't dream of taking on some sort of physical sport or activity such as skateboarding. :-P

I will say the guy looks like a goober, albeit an older goober.

They are making a movie on a comic that looks like the comic...you know, the ultimate spider-man comic...and if you haven't read any of the totally awesome comic then you don't deserve to hate on this at all!!! It's stupid to act surprised about these pics because they said they were going to base the flick on the ultimate and that's what it is.
