There's an awful lot Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures haven't shown us from Spider-Man: No Way Home, and that probably explains why the wall-crawler's battle with Doctor Octopus has been so heavily featured in promos and TV spots. After all, the return of that Spider-Man 2 villain is one heck of a way to market the threequel, and this new clip shows more of Doc Ock in action.
On the hunt for the Fusion Reactor he created, it's unclear whether Otto Octavius remembers his death or that he willingly destroyed it in a moment of clarity in order to save New York City.
Either way, Ock believes this Spider-Man is the one he fought in the 2004 movie, and a battle ensues that's definitely a thrill to watch play out. The special effects seem to have been perfected since the last trailer, while the MCU Peter Parker is clearly being pushed to his limits by the iconic villain.
Check out this new Spider-Man: No Way Home clip below:
"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk," reads the new synopsis. "When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse."
Among the film's confirmed cast members are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, J.K. Simmons, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Based on the new trailer, we can now add Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans to that impressive list of actors (fingers crossed for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).
Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.
