SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - Tom Holland Praises Willem Dafoe And Promises The "Most Cinematic Superhero Movie"

Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has heaped praise on his co-star Willem Dafoe, while also making some bold claims about the sheer scale of the upcoming threequel. Find out what he had to say here!

The new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home premiered last night (it's well worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet), and Tom Holland was on hand for a Q&A with fans in Los Angeles. That event didn't deliver the "big" surprises we hoped for (primarily an appearance from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield), but the actor did share some fun anecdotes with those in attendance.

Asked by the host about getting to work with Green Goblin actor Willem Dafoe, Holland admitted: "The first rehearsal I had with him was pretty surreal for reasons I can't really talk about because I want you to experience it in the theater. It was pretty incredible and he's a wonderful guy."

"These guys are very excited to be coming back and bringing these roles back to life. They came to set a week before they started shooting to see what it was like," he continued, referring to the Norman Osborn actor. "I just bumped into this guy in a cloak. I was like, ‘Watch out mate.’ He took his hood off and I almost got really scared. ‘Oh shit, the Goblin is here.’ But he was lovely. He was really wonderful and a real joy to work with."

Rumour has it Green Goblin will be Spider-Man: No Way Home's lead villain, so it's no wonder Holland had a lot to say bout Dafoe's return (he did, however, also heap plenty of praise on Alfred Molina).

Ultimately, it seems the actor is just excited for fans to see a movie he believes not only exceeds expectations, but blows them away. "This movie exceeds expectations in every way movie. This is the most cinematic superhero movie that has ever been made. I’m proud to say Sony and Marvel have pulled off the impossible."

With tickets set to go on sale on November 29, we're expecting one final trailer for the movie that will finally highlight those alternate reality Spider-Man. We'll see!

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

Ok so did anybody notice Spidermans suit from the game? The blue/red with the big white spider logo on chest and back. Maybe Doc Ock makes it for him like in the game when he becomes good again later on in the movie? We definetly see Electro attack Doc Ock which makes him fall off the scafolding

@RokoVII - at first I thought Ock was just gonna be a corpse puppeteered by the tentacles, but now it does look like he will have a change of hard (again)

@bkmeijer @RokoVII - If the leaks are true (potential spoilers), Osborn is the true villain of the group and the others, specifically Ock and Sandman, are under some kind of mind control / hypnosis to make them act against Spider-Man (since both ended their films on good terms with Peter, even with Ock dying).

@DalekCraigWasson - hope its not cause i hate mind control in movies, lazy writing. Im thinking they are pulled from their universe before they turned good or maybe they are completely different variants which would explain Electro not being blue

@BlackBeltJones - That's a duo that'd be interesting. Dwayne Johnson as the experienced detective, and Holland as the new coming rookie. I'd pay good money to see that.

@BlackBeltJones @KWilly - it'll probably be some jungle adventure. It's Rock's favorite environment and Holland gets two swing around vines

After watching the trailer, I feel like Molina’s Dock Ock is gonna end up helping Holland’s Spidey take down the other villains, but ultimately dies and that’s when Peter learns the only way to stop these villains is to kill them, setting them back into their original universes continuity. However him and the other Spider-Men opt out of this option and that’s what leads them to battling them below that portal Strange is opening, it’s also a good way of keeping Strange out of the fight as he’ll be busy holding the portal open.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - it did seem like they were hinting at him having a change of heart part way through the trailer.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - yeah he definitely forms his suit over the tentacles to repair the inhibitor chip. Interesting choice

@Se4M4NSt4ine - I think Ock does have a change of heart too, but later in the movie. Guess he's also the one giving the invisible punch to Lizard.

Even though the ''leaks'' and whatnots make it seem likely, I'm just still not convinced the other two Spider-Men are in this.

Well, the most cinematic superhero movies ever are Infinity War and Endgame. It would probably take something like Secret Wars to top that.

Regardless, really liked the trailer and can't wait for this film. Certainly the CBM with the most hype since Endgame.

The movie exceeds all expectations because after the trailer I have no idea what to expect anymore? Really now have no idea what it's actually gonna be about

Blue AND yellow electro, Maybe two goblins, unless if they do wardrobe changes, also that glove that reaches out to MJ is the ASM suit, if he's the one who saves her I'll lose my mind! Dr Strange is the worst supreme sorcerer but without him, we wouldn't have this movie lol. BRING IT

From the trailer this movie looks better than FFH at least. Might actually be a decent Spider-Man flick.

I did notice the cinematography looked much better than say Homecoming. This looks like an event, whereas Homecoming looked more like a TV special.

@KWilly - nah Homecoming looked fine. The cinematography here isn’t “much better” - it’s just more CGI heavy lol

@KWilly - the old spidey movies did many more scenes at night adding to the cinematic feel, the holland spidey has been bright and sunny until this movie...

OT: Finally watching the new mutants, and boy it already starts off dumb. They actually use the Old Native American proverb, Inside of every man there are two wolves, and instead they say two bears. Might as well call it an Indian proverb

(Love this edit button)

It’s going to take me months to watch it I can already tell. Same as Wonder Woman 84. Never watched skull island and just from the gate it’s already interesting, I’m in.

@TheWalkingCuban - Kong: Skull Island is surprisingly brutal, and also surprisingly enjoyable. Liked it well more than I expected. And Sam Jackson gets to play a seething bastard, which is always fun.
(There's also a really wonderful and unexpected moment towards the end of the movie that I really loved.)

@RevanOfKrypton - I mean… I would hope so! I dug Shang Chi (until the final act) but it shouldn’t be better than this and Eternals was a complete flop.

This movie has to deliver on the hype. No way with all the talk about Garfield and Maguire coming back and Cox showing up and all the images leaked, this movie has to loose up to the hype.
We should start getting some TV spots probably starting late next week or the first of December. Doubt any reveals. But maybe some teases about other characters.
