The press tour for Spider-Man: No Way Home is winding down, and Tom Holland and company have got to be relieved. Even Jimmy Kimmel couldn't resist asking about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, though the cast - Benedict Cumberbatch, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon were also on hand - did have fun talking about that seemingly invisible character attacking The Lizard!
Before getting to that, though, a new clip from the threequel was shown with Peter Parker, MJ, and Ned all visiting the Sanctum Sanctorum...much to the annoyance of Doctor Strange, of course. He's tasked them with hunting down "Multiversal trespassers," and talks more about why the spell to hide Spider-Man's secret identity from the world ultimately went wrong.
Fun fact: this was how the 38-minute preview of Spider-Man: No Way Home shown to press earlier this month ended - talk about a cliffhanger, eh?
Many fans expected Maguire and Garfield to make a surprise appearance at the premiere last night, but that didn't happen; if they are in the movie, that's something Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios clearly want fans to discover for themselves this Wednesday/Thursday.
Check out the new Spider-Man: No Way Home clip below:
"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk," reads the new synopsis. "When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse."
Among the film's confirmed cast members are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, J.K. Simmons, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Based on the new trailer, we can now add Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans to that impressive list of actors (fingers crossed for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).
Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.
