Earlier this year, a rumor did the rounds which claimed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor Dane DeHaan was set to reprise the role of Harry Osborn/Green Goblin for the then untitled Far From Home follow-up.
It seemed like another case of a site flinging a few different possibilities at the wall in the hopes that something would stick, and sure enough, DeHaan debunked the report outright shortly after.
“There’s no truth to those rumours,” he said at the time. “I don’t even know how that would be pulled off. And I have no idea what they’re doing with the Spider-Man movies now, but I don’t really understand a world in which that would be possible.”
So, we won't be seeing DeHaan's take on Harry Osborn in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but does he have any interest in revisiting the character down the line?
"I would definitely hope to take on a new thing, for sure," DeHaan told ComicBook.com about potentially returning to Spider-Man or joining another franchise. "What's exciting to me is always doing new things, and I'm sure something like that will come along again in my life, and I'm excited to see what it is."
We do know that No Way Home will feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Spider-Man 2 actor Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, and TASM 2's Jamie Foxx as Electro , along with returning cast members Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori and Marisa Tomei.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (among others) are expected to return as their respective takes on Spidey, but that's yet to be made official.
Would you like to see DeHaan suit-up as the Green Goblin again, or do you think Sony/Marvel should move on with a new version of the classic Spidey villain?
