The Cinema Source recently reported that Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Logan Lerman has been cast in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Marc Webb's reboot. This exclusive news was related to the site by an insider source.

The Cinema Source doesn't supply any further details regarding the rumored casting choice or how they came about this information. Until this is confirmed by the studio, don't consider it official.

I debunk the rumor. I will not watch any of these new films whatsoever. Sony has proven to be a bunch of money-grubbing bores. Nuff said.

Ian Somerhalder or Joseph Gordan Leavit. they can pull off high school senior. which is as early as the movies should go

I like the ultimate line but the guys they keep suggesting seem too "Cool" and "Buff" to play puny Parker. Seriously Zac Efron!?! WTF please tell me he's not still in the running.

i think im with Ryden@ tho im willing to wait for a preview.

how long was spider-man really in high school in the comics? my whole life i've always knows spider-man to be just that - a man. he got his powers in high school but that is by no means the most interesting part of his life.

@OdinsBeard- He was in highscool for as long as Ditko was working on the comic, the bets years IMO. I like the high-school route but if this is the casting choice, then they've done something mighty wrong. I think I've got my own spider-sense when it comes to Spidey-movie news and it's going off right now man, he wouldn;t make a good Peter.

Levvit is the better option.

I don't even care that he is or isn't cast for the part, the picture itself is what upsets me. I've had a trident tattooed on my arm in that very same spot for the past 5 years. I've always liked Greek mythology, Poseidon being my favorite, so I drew up a trident design for myself. It's just ironic that the concept is used in a movie. Tho it's vertically reversed from mine and a different style.

I hope there is open casting for this movie i may be inexperienced but i could do better than lerman i mean he is alright but i am someone who would love to play spider-man i don't need a big pay check plus i am a big ultimate spiderman fan i think they should take that concept but use 616 universe personalities i hate ultimate MJ worried bitch it is to much like dunst

i don't care for a reboot at all, but i do like this kid. seen percy jackson.. the kid can actually act. he's good. i like em. i'd watch him play spiderman (without a hard-on like some of these adult cbm crackheads)

I saw Percy Jackson this week. The movie was very uneven and definitely geared towards the twi-market. Logan was pretty decent in it though. He has natural stage presence and charisma. He did seem to struggle showing emotions though I am not sure if that is just because of the movie.

As others have said, I will wait and see if this is true but I believe Logan can play the role of Spidey.
