The Cinema Source recently reported that Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Logan Lerman has been cast in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Marc Webb's reboot. This exclusive news was related to the site by an insider source.

The Cinema Source doesn't supply any further details regarding the rumored casting choice or how they came about this information. Until this is confirmed by the studio, don't consider it official.

This isn't the first time we've heard Lerman's name linked to the new Spider-Man franchise; which will focus on a younger Peter Parker that tries to balance his first few years of crime fighting with high school. Lerman has stated that he is very interested in the role, but there has been no word that the studio is actively pursuing him as a candidate.
