SPIDER-MAN 4's Release Date Reportedly Revealed (And It's Going To Be A Long Wait)

There was a time when Spider-Man 4 was supposedly being lined up for a July 2024 release, but the rumour mill is once again churning, and we may finally have some news on that front. Find more details here!

When Tom Holland was doing the round to promote Spider-Man: No Way Home, the actor made it clear his future as Peter Parker was far from set in stone. Many wondered if the actor was publicly negotiating a lucrative deal to return, especially as the majority of fans were quick to share their horror on social media that his time as the web-slinger might be up.

Since then, we've heard multiple reports about plans for Spider-Man 4, including the fact it was once being eyed for a July 2024 release.

It's become clear that's not going to happen and neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures have shared any official comments on plans for the franchise beyond strongly hinting the movie will eventually become a reality.

Rumours are once again swirling about plans for Spider-Man 4, including claims an announcement will be made before July's San Diego Comic-Con.

Later, trusted insider @MyTimeToShineH weighed in to suggest that the movie is targeting an August 28, 2025 release. If correct, this would make it a Phase 6 movie which swings into theaters after Fantastic Four and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but before Avengers: Secret Wars

It's previously been reported that the wall-crawler will be The Kang Dynasty's lead character, so the events of that team-up would presumably set the stage for whatever follows in his next solo outing. We also can't discount the possibility that Spidey will make a cameo appearance in Fantastic Four given his comic book counterpart's history with Marvel's First Family.

Stay tuned for updates on Spider-Man 4 as we have them.

Will this movie be affected by the current writers strike?

Why is this guy being used as a source so frequently? Like 99% of the dcu rumors Gunn has been debunking was from him.

@Origame - no, thats Grace Randolph. This person is almost always on the money with marvel/DC.

@DanFlashesShirt - lol no. Literally every rumor for the dcu posted here was from mytimetoshine. And all of those have been debunked by Gunn himself.

August feels like a weird date considering Marvel only used it for the first Guardians I think. That said though, third movie in 2025 makes sense. Kinda expected Armor Wars to the be the fourth anyway
Vigor

@bkmeijer1 - technically Sonys movie

bkmeijer1 - 5/5/2023, 7:49 AM
@Vigor - true, but with Marvel Studios being involved as well I doubt they'll go beyond four MCU movies per year anyway.

I need Black Cat to be in this fourth one. Either her or Johnny Storm. And with FEAST playing a part in NWH, I think the villain for the next one should be pretty obvious.

@KWilly - I'm drawing a blank. What's FEAST?
Taonrey
Taonrey - 5/5/2023, 8:43 AM
@KWilly - he be a good villain for the start of the new trilogy. Put both Johnny and Black cat in Spider-Man 4.
KWilly
KWilly - 5/5/2023, 9:38 AM
@Vigor - FEAST is the charity organization Aunt May worked for in NWH. It's also the organization that Mr. Negative owns in the comics.

@KWilly - ahhhh thanks
SpiderParker

@KWilly - I don't like that people have been asking for him ever since the game. I mean there are better villains out there. Chameleon for one or Scorpion unless they are setting up for Venom after Kang Dynasty but I think it's gonna be after Secret Wars.

@SpiderParker - I mean people are allowed to want who they want. Negative is cool, don’t see issue with people wanting to see a live action version

If they’re making a Spidey 4, the fact that they haven’t started pre production and considering the writers strike, a 2025 release makes perfect sense. They’d never be able to hit a 2024 release right now.
DanFlashesShirt
DanFlashesShirt - 5/5/2023, 7:43 AM
I bet this will be before Kang Dynasty (at least i hope), especially if they want to lean into the street level stuff..

I have a feeling there’s no way Kang Dynasty makes that 2025 release date, thats exactly 2 years from now and they haven’t even written it yet. Plus, they supposedly want to squeeze Doctor Strange 3 in before then.

Considering they’ve hired new writers to work on 3 different scripts that seem pretty far along, wouldn’t shock me at all if they delay this one to make sure its good, what with it being the first Avengers film since Endgame and all. Especially, as we all know, after Quantumania’s less than ideal reception.

I want a Spidey movie that ties in with Daredevil & Kingpin. Maybe 2 movies. Toss in some Punisher, Black Cat, maybe Tombstone.

That stuff along with Fantastic 4, then X-Men should be the base of the MCU after all of this Kang/multiverse/time travel nonsense is over.

damn, literally said what i was going to say haha... they really need to focus on street spidey... he had his big adventures with the avengers in IW and Endgame... now it's time to get to basic spidey with his villians
DocSpock

I totally agree. Maybe could get some Jessica Jones & maybe even Kate Bishop too.

@DocSpock - i never read any of his comics (only watched the 90s cartoons) so not sure if he interacted with them, but, f*ck it, why not... the more street hero cameos the better... but.... he 100% needs to work with DD and throw in some Punisher as well
DocSpock

@MotherGooseUPus -

You know it Goose. Just imagine old Spidey sniffin around after one of the X-Chicks when they get here. What sweet mayhem that could cause.

@DocSpock -

This is my concern is that this timing will make them make spidey 4 a multiverse related movie with Kang and throw other avengers in there rather than a street level story (which we all want).

You know. That would suck.

Didn’t marvel said they wanted Spider-Man break before working fourth another year I’m surprised not longer

Why are we treating this twitter account as a reliable source? I was just scrolling through his/her's feed and came across something I know is a lie...

"Can @sylabdul or Mikey Sutton from @GeekosityMag answer as to why Gal Gadot was not present at #FullCircle, or why the Green Lantern scene was not shown tonight, despite “scooping” and promising their audience that both things were happening? #FullCircle"

I follow and watch both these guys and neither one made this claim, all they said was maybe the trinity would show up, not that they would. And Sutton was the one that broke the news about Rey returning in a new movie at least a month before celebration. And his DC scoops have been accurate since before Zaslov took over.

MosquitoFarmer

Two years isn't a long wait, especially considering how long it takes them to make and complete the movie. You made it sound like it wouldn't be until at least after Secret Wars.
