When Tom Holland was doing the round to promote Spider-Man: No Way Home, the actor made it clear his future as Peter Parker was far from set in stone. Many wondered if the actor was publicly negotiating a lucrative deal to return, especially as the majority of fans were quick to share their horror on social media that his time as the web-slinger might be up.
Since then, we've heard multiple reports about plans for Spider-Man 4, including the fact it was once being eyed for a July 2024 release.
It's become clear that's not going to happen and neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures have shared any official comments on plans for the franchise beyond strongly hinting the movie will eventually become a reality.
Rumours are once again swirling about plans for Spider-Man 4, including claims an announcement will be made before July's San Diego Comic-Con.
Later, trusted insider @MyTimeToShineH weighed in to suggest that the movie is targeting an August 28, 2025 release. If correct, this would make it a Phase 6 movie which swings into theaters after Fantastic Four and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but before Avengers: Secret Wars.
It's previously been reported that the wall-crawler will be The Kang Dynasty's lead character, so the events of that team-up would presumably set the stage for whatever follows in his next solo outing. We also can't discount the possibility that Spidey will make a cameo appearance in Fantastic Four given his comic book counterpart's history with Marvel's First Family.
Stay tuned for updates on Spider-Man 4 as we have them.
