Spider-Man: Mckenna Grace Reveals Whether She'd Play The MCU's Gwen Stacy

Mckenna Grace has long been a fan-favourite choice to play Gwen Stacy in the MCU. Now, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping star has weighed in on the possibility of joining the Spider-Man franchise.

After playing a young Carol Danvers in 2019's Captain Marvel, Mckenna Grace has gone on to land starring roles in The Handmaid's Tale, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and upcoming titles like The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and Scooby-Doo: Origins.

Grace's name often comes up for various superhero movie roles, and Gwen Stacy keeps coming up. Now, the actress has finally revealed whether she'd be interested in joining the Spider-Man franchise as the character.

Talking to a fan on the red carpet, Grace said of potentially playing Gwen, "Whenever I get fan-cast for these things, that’s when they tend to happen. Oh my gosh, of course, that would be such a dream job for any actor."

Grace both looks the part and has the acting talent to do right by the character, regardless of whether she plays Gwen or Spider-Gwen. She's previously been linked to Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, though that proved to be little more than online speculation leading up to Spider-Man: Brand New Day's release.

In the comics, Peter Parker met Gwen as undergraduates at Empire State University. They didn't initially get along, but romance eventually blossomed, and Gwen quickly became the greatest love of Spider-Man's life.

Tragically, she was later kidnapped and killed by the Green Goblin (though Peter's attempt to save her may have played a role in her death). While the wall-crawler would later date and marry Mary Jane Watson, Gwen is typically considered Spider-Man's one true love.

While Gwen remains dead and gone on Earth-616, she's since been replaced by a younger, Multiversal counterpart, Ghost-Spider. However, she's typically referred to as Spider-Gwen or Spider-Woman, and has broken into the mainstream thanks to Hailee Steinfeld's lead role in the animated Spider-Verse movies.

Marvel Studios doesn't necessarily need to head down the Spider-Gwen route, and Gwen's introduction could be what helps Spider-Man move on from MJ. However, Spider-Man: Brand New Day's ending seemed to hint that Peter and MJ aren't done just yet.

Then again, with the character set to play a big role in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2, there's clearly a lot of interest in her on Marvel Studios' part. As noted, Grace, who is 20, would undoubtedly be a good fit for the role, too.

She would absolutely nail the role of Gwen (and Ghost Spider)!

She would be 21-22 when tom is almost 32-33. Maybe 34. I know that they look rather young. But I’d rather they get someone who is at least around his age. Someone in her late 20’s maybe early 30’s by then.

How tight are they willing to make the suit?

Ive never considered Gwen Peter's "one true" love... to me thats always been MJ. With that said, for the MCU id rather it be Gwen instead of this fake Michelle Jones (MJ) crap we have going on... but they will NEVER replace zendaya, which is unfortunate imo
