Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters later today, and Sony Pictures is hyping up its slate of Spider-Man movies with a new trailer and poster.
Featuring footage from Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, it's very much a celebration of the wall-crawler's spectacular legacy on screen.
Should this be taken as some sort of tease that Across the Spider-Verse features a cameo appearance from the three live-action Spider-Men? That remains to be seen, but if not this movie, then we anticipate them showing up in 2024's Beyond the Spider-Verse.
It's great to see the four Spider-Men side-by-side, anyway, and we can only hope that a live-action Miles Morales will eventually join the party. According to franchise producer Amy Pascal, that's the plan, though when and where it will happen has yet to be revealed.
Check out the trailer and poster below.
Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.
