SPIDER-MAN: Sony Pictures Rumored To Be Developing A Live-Action MILES MORALES Movie

Sony Pictures is currently working a number of Spider-Man-related spinoffs, and a new rumor now claims that the studio is interested in developing a solo movie featuring Miles Morales.

Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland recently suggested that Sony Pictures might one day look to introduce Miles Morales to replace Peter Parker as the new Spider-Man once he steps away from the role, and it sounds like the studio might already be planning to do just that.

Insider Daniel Richtman is reporting (via his Patreon) that Sony is working on a live-action Miles Morales movie. We're not sure if the project is actually in the early stages of development or simply an idea that's being kicked around, but it was probably only a matter of time before the studio made moves to capitalize on the character's popularity.

Miles made his comic book debut as the Ultimate version of Spider-Man before eventually swinging into the 616 universe. He was the focus of 2019's critically-acclaimed Into The Spider-Verse animated feature, as well as a recent PlayStation video game.

With the Multiverse about to open the door to a multitude of possibilities in No Way Home, there's never been a better time to bring Morales to the big screen in live-action form.

We'll have to treat this as a rumor for now, but we'll keep you guys posted if and when we hear more. In the meantime, be sure to share your Miles Morales casting picks with us in the comments section.

I totally called this the other day in the No Way Home comments. It’s obvious Sony will go with multiple different action Spidey films

@ThorArms - the more the merrier is my approach with new sony films now. Finally moving past sony 1/4 body horror 3/4 comedy movies like venom and morbius

most will likely not be Marvel Studios quality, but maybe a gem or 2

@ThorArms - What if they got Sam Raimi to direct the 4th Tom Holland movie and just called it Spider-man 4?

@GwenLantern - eh nah. That will never happen, and shouldn't. The next trilogy will have a new name set instead of "home"

It wouldn't be right to have Raimi to do a SM film without Tobey.

@AmazingFILMporg - then they didn't build to him. Building implies they took steps to slowly hint at him overtime before finally bringing him in.

@AmazingFILMporg - They merely hinted. There have still been Parker centric films.

What's really wild is people are paying Danny to be told a day before everyone else how one of the bussers overheard an executive at the cafeteria turned to another executive and said "What about a Miles Morales movie?"

OT: Trailer for Bruce Campbell's next movie Black Friday.

I'm calling it Shopping of Darkness.

@AmazingFILMporg - I said the same thing. If Sony is in charge it will be a travesty.

@AmazingFILMporg - dude after the Venoms you’re right. Like even Spider-Man 3 was great in comparison thereof. “Hey bartholomew, nice sentence”

@SonOfAGif -

Its not so much Sony but its the people they hire to make marvel films. I wish Sony would just get lord and miller to be their Feige👦
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 11/19/2021, 12:27 AM
@AmazingFILMporg - Even with who they hire it's still the unnecessary oversight Sony has on these projects. They worked with Marvel Studios and created a successful partnership to tarnish it with ridiculous spinoffs that have nothing to do with the properties they built. And then they launch a successful animated film and instead of focusing on that universe they instead want to pluck villains from the MCU Spider-Man to crossover with their inconsistent spider-man villains.

Miles is half African American and half Puerto Rican. The actor should be as well.

@SonOfAGif - F(orget) that. He should be an ethnically black Cuban/Honduran. From New Orleans. Raised on the Mississippi gulf coast, is any of this ringing a bell? 39! 5’5.5! Gees Louise, it’s ME! I’m him! Pick me in the one!
