Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland recently suggested that Sony Pictures might one day look to introduce Miles Morales to replace Peter Parker as the new Spider-Man once he steps away from the role, and it sounds like the studio might already be planning to do just that.
Insider Daniel Richtman is reporting (via his Patreon) that Sony is working on a live-action Miles Morales movie. We're not sure if the project is actually in the early stages of development or simply an idea that's being kicked around, but it was probably only a matter of time before the studio made moves to capitalize on the character's popularity.
Miles made his comic book debut as the Ultimate version of Spider-Man before eventually swinging into the 616 universe. He was the focus of 2019's critically-acclaimed Into The Spider-Verse animated feature, as well as a recent PlayStation video game.
With the Multiverse about to open the door to a multitude of possibilities in No Way Home, there's never been a better time to bring Morales to the big screen in live-action form.
We'll have to treat this as a rumor for now, but we'll keep you guys posted if and when we hear more. In the meantime, be sure to share your Miles Morales casting picks with us in the comments section.
