"Spider-Man" Teaser In Front Of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II"?

Here I give my thoughts that we could see a teaser for the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot as early as next summer, as well as likely being in front of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II".

The upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot being directed by Marc Webb is scheduled for release July 3, 2012 and begins filming December 6th, 2010 (EIGHT DAYS AWAY). With this information in mind, I thought it might be fun to discuss what film will have a teaser trailer for the "Spider-Man" film playing in front of it in 2011.

I think we can all agree that Sony is going to want to attach the teaser to a BIG box office film to get the film hyped, and what better then to put it in front of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II", being released July 14, 2011, exactly a year before the "Spidey" flick is released.

One thing to point out is that much of the target audience for the "Spider-Man" films apply to the Harry Potter film audience. Kids, teens and adults of all ages are fans of the Potter films which is partially why the franchise has been staying strong since 2001, and so it would be a smart move to show it in front of the film.

Another less important aspect, but none the less worth putting out there is that Rhys Ifans was in Part I of the last film as Xenophilius Lovegood. Why does this matter? Ifans is playing Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard so that could enforce some kind of consideration from Sony.

Also, I think we all can agree that Sony will want to release a teaser as soon as possible and considering filming begins December 6th, by July 2011 filming would already have been done for eight months so there definantly would be footage to make a teaser with.

WB wouldn't promote Sony's films. You fail.

And no, in July filming will NOT have been done for 8 months. The film will shoot at LEAST 4-5 months, which means I wouldn't expect footage until at least September or October of next year.

They wouldn't promote a film that will directly compete with The Dark Knight Rises. YOU fail.

I'm not being negative, just trying to bring some other factors into your perspective. I'm not saying it definitely won't happen, I just don't see it happening. While they do open two weeks apart, they still will be competing not only for the month of July, but for the entire summer box office.

@CBK and MCU: Do we really have any way of knowing at the moment? Anything along the lines of advertising for the movie haven't even been mentioned. So unless one of you guys can see into the future then your whole argument was silly and YOU BOTH FAIL!

Yeah... this is all pretty pointless speculation. EVERY studio is going to want to put a trailer with Potter. Doesn't mean that every one of them can or will.
