Sargent to write Spider-Man 3 Screenplay

Cinescape Online reports that Alvin Sargent has been contracted to write the screenplay for Spider-Man 3. Sargent had sole screenwriting credit for Spider-Man 2 and also contributed (but received no onscreen credit) for the first film’s script.

The writer is expected to earn a seven-figure paycheck for writing the screenplay for the third Spider-Man flick.

So far no details concerning the third movie’s storyline or even who the main villain will be have surfaced.

The movie is set to hit theaters on May 4, 2007.
