Marvel's SPIDER-MAN: New Promo Art For The Series Reveals Doctor Octopus, The Vulture, And More

We haven't seen much from Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man animated series, but a new piece of promo art has revealed the designs for classic foes, including the Vulture, Doc Ock, and more...

While we've seen a few promotional pieces and a very brief teaser, there hasn't been all that much showcased from Marvel's latest Spider-Man animated series, which is set to premiere "mid-2017".  A new piece of promo art has now made its way online that provides a better look at some of the designs for wall-crawler's classic villains, including Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, and the Vulture (who is not-so-subtly inspired by his upcoming MCU debut).

The piece comes from artist Patrick Brown, who confirmed on his DeviantArt page that the designs are for the new animated series. These representations will probably be welcomed by many fans, especially since the last series, Ultimate Spider-Man, reinterpreted the classic foes in some unorthodox ways. Honestly I think they should have gone with a more classic look for Vulture only because the MCU look seems to clash with all the other designs that are basically straight out of the comics.

@Origame -
Sometimes, you gotta adapt, coz the comics are...simple... and it doesn't translate well in the movies.
Look at Shocker, he may be comic accurate, but he's a complete joke! :p
Volture looks badass imho.
Just like Goblin did in the first Spidey movie.

Oh well, in that case...

@Doomsday8888 - Yeah bro but this is a cartoon. Shocker and Vulture have shown to have serviceable cartoon designs on more than one occasion.

The art looks great better than the previous show. I think this show is actually based on the story of Spiderman Homecoming. The vulture design looks very similar to SH.

So it looks like Sinister Six will be the main villain in this show.

@MattBellissimo - How did they justify those designs? Boggles the mind!

@MattBellissimo - LMAO this show was so bad.. but I did admittedly watch some of the spidey team with Iron Spider, Miles, Scarlet Spider, and Agent Venom and the Grandmaster games... but show still sucked and the designs were stupid

@Kman - Yeah, I only watched the team ups, and watched the crossover episodes with other Disney shows (out of morbid curiosity). Outside of that, this show was a major skip.

Which is a shame because Spider-Man is an awesome character. I enjoyed a lot of his past shows (even that controversial one where he traveled to the future/alternate earth (I forget which, been a long time since I watched that series)), and am still upset about Spectacular Spider-Man ending before it could get a proper ending.

@GrimaF4ndango - At the end he appears nothing like he appears in the promo art

he appears at 0:16

The art style is VERY Humberto Ramos-inspired which is pretty interesting. I personally hate Ramos but it kinda works in this one image.

The art style looks great. Though Vulture's design kind of clashes with the rest.

I hope this is more like the 90's cartoon....That, Batman TAS, superman TAS, Xmen and JLA TAS were amazing.

I also enjoyed Xmen Evolution 😏

@MonsieurClunge - couldnt agree more. those were the best comic book cartoons still to this day. Batman TAS and JLU are my 2 all time favs, followed by 90s Spidey.

I also like Xmen Evolution haha

@MonsieurClunge - i'm actually in the middle of watching evolution for the first time with my nephew, on the first episode of season 3..

and I love it! except that colossus is one of sinister's goons. and sometimes the kids act way too "cool" if you know what i mean lol.

kitty pryde's voice is so [frick]in hawt.

can I pretend she is 18? or since it is a cartoon, thus not actually having a real age.. does it matter? her VA definitely isn't 18.

@MotherGooseUPus - those cartoons had so much heart in them and also taught young kids some important life lessons.

I know i sound like an old man with my 'back in my day rant' but a lot of the cartoons these days don't hold a candle to the 90's / early 2000's ones.

@ALostCause - i need to re watch it as I missed a few episodes when apoc started fücking shit up.

Good job on watching it with your nephew, the Younglings need experience quality cartoons.
