Marvel's
Ultimate Spider-Man will be coming to an end this month after four seasons on air. The series was - without a doubt - a very different take on everyone's favourite wallcrawler. While most animated series featuring the character had him flying solo,
Ultimate set the hero up as a S.H.I.E.L.D. trainee, leading a team of other teenage superheroes featuring Luke Cage, Nova, Iron Fist, and White Tiger.
The show wasn't exactly a hit with older members of Spidey's fanbase, but still made a lot of creatively bold choices such as making
Mary Jane Watson into
Carnage, adapting Dan Slott's
Spider-Verse storyline, changing the identities of many members of the rogues gallery, and much more. In a new featurette, the cast and crew of the series reflect on their time making the show, along with previewing the finale, which will see Spider-Man square off against the
Sinister Six and their leader,
Doctor Octopus, who will be transformed into....a giant octopus monster. Check it out below!
Ultimate Spider-Man's two part finale will air on
January 7, 2017.
Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man” will culminate in January 2017 with an exciting two-part finale arc titled “Graduation Day” that will see Spider-Man stop Doctor Octopus and the Superior Sinister Six from destroying all of the heroes in New York City. For 2016 to date, the series has reached 51 million Total Viewers across the U.S., generated close to 4 million consumer engagements via VOD/STB and ranks among the network’s top 5 animated series in key targeted boy demographics.
