The Spidey Reboot. Good Or Bad?

The Spidey Reboot. Good Or Bad?

Things I think they should do with the Spidey re-boot.

Spider-Man has been a favourite of mine for many years. Since I read the Amazing Spider-Man comics from the 60's, their capturing the real life of a teenager along with all the action-- of course, the wisecracks helped, too. Knowing these things when the first Spider-Man came out back in 2002, I nearly crapped my pants. Now, it’s been eight years with two more movies that I enjoyed, and a reboot on the way. I will admit: I was disappointed at first, but things seem to be lightening up. Here’s what they should do for the Spidey reboot to get an A+.

1. Wisecracks
Spider-Man has had one signature trademark aside from the webs. He cracks jokes during fights. Although there was a little bit of it in “Spider-Man 2,” I missed the wisecracking Peter Parker from the comics. We did get the vulnerable Peter, and that’s probably what Sam was going for. Wwe need those jokes for this reboot. Please.

2.No Origin
We've seen his origin too many times already. Going all the way back to the beginning would be redundant and stupid. They should follow “The Incredible Hulk” and illustrate it in flashbacks. Either way we don’t want to start all over again.

3.No Green Goblin
While I wouldn’t mind having Norman Osborn in the movie, don’t make him the villain. He was already the villain in the first movie. Their picking him again would be redundant. Have a villain like the Lizard or Mysterio.

4. Web Shooters
Web shooters would work if it added to his problems: running out of fluid in mid-fight. Now that would be interesting. Also maybe he drops his web shooter out of his pocket and is almost seen. It would just work for some good comedy and make him more of a realistic character.

And that’s how I feel about the reboot. I hope you enjoyed them.

I would like for Osborn to be behind all the villians in the Re-boot and then finally come out as Goblin in the 3rd film and kill Gwen

I agree with all of these things. Peter can explain how he got his powers in a voice over, or in a flashback, sure, but we don't need another drawn out origin. Norman MUST be in the movie. But I agree, not as Gobby. But he should still be one of the central characters, and there should be some foreshadowing and little hints that he's not a good guy. Screw organic webs, those are lame, web shooters rock!!!!

So far,it's looking good.

Don't listen to LEEE on this subject. He gets something in his mind and he refuses to listen to the other side. This movie could win an Oscar and he would still think it's crap.

@Mrcool210
I agree with alot of what you explained, but I feel like I'm the only one who remembers Spider-Man cracking jokes in all of the past three films. Now I know he didn't do it every second he breathed but the times that he made the jokes were at the right time for them. Don't worry about LEEE, just let him wait and see the reboot. ;)

Completely agree with everything but how could you not cast the Green Goblin, the biggest villian (next to Venom) Spidey has? Of course they're not gonna put him in the first movie but instead Webb would establish Norman Osborn's character and cast the Goblin in later films

if they stick to the comics and leave ot the origin story it has a chance. hell yes to the wisecracks also. that is vintage spidey. get a fairly well named actor for aunt may and jj jameson. they should be main characters. they need to advance through the villains like in the comics. start with chameleon and mysterio.

i agree with everything you said except for no orgin. you must be dumb not to do the orgin. its a reboot bro you need to do the orgin and in all its glory. this is spiderman were talking about here. also i think the first villian should be the vulture with a cameo of the camelion just to throw him in there i mean after all he was the first villian spiderman ever faced!

Hey Mr.cool! I'm sorry for putting this but could you help us?

"To all of you reading this, please support my effort to contact Elisabeth Harnois about the role of Gwen Stacy for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Writing to Cinematical.com about the matter could grab their attention and have them help in our effort. You can write to them or write to Elisabeth on Twitter, or (if you have MySpace) contact her fanpage and get them to join the mission in getting Elisabeth an audition for the role. Or if it is possible, start a petition. Please, help us bring this attention to Elisabeth or Marc Webb or Sony! Thank you all and I hope you support us. :)"

I am sorry about this being a bothersome.

I really agree with number 3. I think the Lizard or Vulture would be an interesting villain.

I think if all of those things are added in the new reboot, then you can consider that movie to be the "greatest spider-man of all time". Also if the movie is going to be based on the Ultimate series, then Norman Osborn would be a good idea for the first villain (but like said before, no origin.) I only say that because in the Ultimate series, that is Spidey's first villain. Also if they end up making Green Goblin the first villain, they can't kill him off so fast. In the movie that Sam Raimi made, he killed off the goblin so fast...yet in the Ultimate comics he lives on for so long but locked away in a highly secured prison.

Web Shooters would be a great idea. In the 2002-present movies, they ruined the whole idea of spiderman. I understand that they wanted his powers to be more organic but the comic books made it seem more realistic to have web shooting out of a homemade contraption than out of his hands : P

And now for the most important part of a Spider Man Movie Reboot would definitely have to be...the wisecracks. Personally, I think the wisecracks make spiderman a more interesting character. It shows that he is not scared of his enemies. Although in the Ultimate comics, Peter uses wisecracks to help him deal with the fear of his enemies. I think the wisecracks should be childish too because in the comics, his jokes/wisecracks are childish. They can use the wisecracks to either disguise his fear or just for fun. Either way, it should be added in there.

Forgot to mention something before...
They should NOT make Spider Man a little Wussy! That made me SO mad when I realized that in the 3rd spiderman movie. They cant make spider man a little pansy or too gritty. If he his too gritty, it would be more like a batman movie...and spider man is TOTALLY different from batman.

Oh yeah, in my opinion, NO 3-D!

Like said before...If they add all those things in the Reboot, it might make a great movie!
