Superman is THE original American hero. I hope those elements are in the film. I hated the "truth, justice, all that stuff..." in Superman Returns.

One thing I'm not liking about other big films coming is the foreign pandering, especially to communist China. All in the name of being more "marketable".

I like that in the first Iron Man they used real terrorists and didn't make them some Euro trash like so many other movies but its clear for IM3 they toned down the Mandarin for this reason.

The "American Way" is also about simple respect for others. IM3 could indeed be a "Lame ass" super hero movie,but who gave you the right to make that decision for others?

The "American way" thing is as much a part of Superman's character as his red cape.

What message do you think WB is sending releasing that shot of Superman in front of Old Glory and a 7-11? You don't get any more nationalistic then that.

Bitching about American nationalism in a Superman film is as stupid as getting mad at a James Bond film that talks about Queen and country with waving Union Jacks.

Nobody in the USA would pass up a Bond film because that character loves his country.Let an American character love his.

Didn't you see the MOS trailer? Young Clark is shattered when he finds out his alien origin and just wants to be the Kent's son. He's not out there tearing away his American upbringing,he's trying to square it with his alien heritage the same way millions of other immigrants who helped build this country have done.

He was raised in American,by Americans,with American friends.

He built a regular life in an American city,working for an American boss and has an American girlfriend.

Oh I'm sure they won't have Superman say the line to keep the film "marketable"
to haters from the UK, Oz or whatever godforsaken place that would get offended
if Superman respects the creed,not the government policy of the nation that took him in, but WB is sending a sly message that this Superman film isn't running away from expressing love for America the way Singer's film did.
