Who will be the next Superman? This is a question on the minds of many. Most loyal fans of the the Man of Steel have their own ideas of whom should don the iconic S on the big screen. Let's take a look at the last two Men of Steel. But not when they are fighting "For truth and justice and the American way", but the actors, when they are trying to land the part of one of Americas most beloved heros, Superman...

First, the most recent Ka-el, Brandon Routh during his screen test and transformation into Superman.

And Finally Christopher Reeve, who to many is the only true Superman, and an interesting look back at his screen test Followed by a special interview with late night great Jonny Carson, shortly after the filming of Superman the Movie.

Who should be the next Superman? Who is the best Superman? The first question will be answered in time. The second, only time itself will silence this on going inquiry. But in the minds eye of every fanboy, their is no mistake in the true identity of Superman, Glasses or no ... Superhero 9 Out!!!

how awesome! probably one of the older cbm's here. but that is so cool seeing carson, dangerfeild, and reeves together. he will always be superman to me. routh did a great job, but give it to welling for f@ck sake! he has put in 10 seasons! he will forever be typecast. plus he does a great job with the dawson's creek side of things.

Christopher Reeve was the only true Superman. But now it's time to have a Superman for OUR generation and for that I am soooo excited to find out who our NEW MODERN DAY Man of Steel will be!!! =)

@Superguy1591- I too am still on the Hammbootwagon, I pray he gets the part...it's all possible he could! He'd be a great Superman of age and wisdom which is what Superman OUGHT to be!

@George97- No, Brandon Routh should be kept as far away from the Nolan reboot as possible. He nearly re-killed Superman on the big screen, after the character had been in development hell for 2 decades! Him and Bryan Singer used their one shot to butcher Superman. I say- [frick] THEM. I don't want Brandon anywhere near the reboot. [frick] Brandon Routh.

In addition to what Superguy1591 had said...we Superman-fans have it the hardest...our hero has had by far- the WEAKEST films of any comicbook type. Think about ie- Superman 1 and 2 were both good films but they lacked the REAL potential Superman has unlocked a few times in the comics and animation, the type of potential where Superman bleeds and really FIGHTS for his life. That and the Chris Reeve Superman films gave the character way too many powers he never had in the comics ie- turning back time, the amnesia-kiss and being able to move planets when at times in the films he had trouble just being able to lift a school bus. Come on, can we have ANY consistency in the Superman films??

MOST if not all Superman-fans have a desire to see our hero portrayed properly on the bigscreen. Routh doesn't have the ability to pull it off...so now WB has turned to Nolan and I hope he can cast a TRUE Superman.

We Superman fans have been slighted for the LAST [frick]EN GOD DAMN TIME. It's time WE got the movie for OUR hero that we have all wanted for so long. All the films so far have been- too 'lovey-dovey'/emo-bastard father/no real action.

This time WB cannot [frick] up again. Make Superman GREAT again and give him the BEST film of all comicbook superheroes!!

The real irony by far is the fact that Superman like I said earlier has had the WEAKEST films...yet he's supposed to be one of the MOST POWERFUL superheroes out there. That is sad.
