Last Friday we reported that actor Martin Richardson would be playing Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming fan-film 'Superman: Requiem', and today we have a brand new poster which gives us our first good look at the costume being used, as well as who our leading lady and villain will be.

Stacy Sobieski (Pictured above-left) will be play a new character called Ali Noels, a reporter at the Daily Planet that Clark has feelings for. Robert Hartley Wainwright (Pictured above-right) will be playing the films villain, Alex Luthor, estranged son to Lex Luthor.

Here's the official press release for details on the new characters and movie:

LONDON, April 4, 2011 – Cupsogue Pictures announced further casting details today for fan-film ‘Superman: Requiem’. Stacy Sobieski will play Ali Noels, a new character for this Superman movie, who is leading opposite Martin Richardson who was announced as Superman/Clark Kent last Friday.

In the film, Ali Noels is a new reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper who Clark has feelings for, and who helps him when Clark finds himself almost powerless as a
result of an evil mastermind and his vicious plans for greed and wealth.

That mastermind has also been confirmed today as Alex Luthor, Lex Luthor’s
estranged son, who will be portrayed by Robert Hartley Wainwright.
The film’s director Gene Fallaize said, “We are very pleased with the new additions to our cast. Stacy brings grace and warmth to her character, making Ali endearing as a romantic prospect for Clark, whilst Robert brings fantastic presence to his character, as someone that really is evil enough to find a way to be a real threat to Superman.

He added “Whilst this film is set in the ‘Donner-verse’, we still wanted to create new characters to set it in a new place in the Superman universe too, so that we can benefit from existing back-stories and some pre-established characters, whilst still creating an entirely new story that we hope audiences will enjoy."

Intriguing. It sounds like the "Smallville" of the Donnerverse. But the plot is interesting. I'll see how this looks. I still want to see the "Superman : Earth One" costume in the upcoming reboot.

How does this project keep out of legal trouble? Has DC given it a pass or is it utilizing some sort of loophole?

As long as this is a nonprofit movie it can be made and shown with no legal reprocusion.

FAIL. I'm so damn tired of Superman/Batman fan films. This Director person got funded to direct a property that's not even his. How retarded. Jackass people need to be more goddamn original.

Haha funny thing, fan-films are made everyday, so why is this one getting so much attention? Maybe because it could possibly be good? I swear fanboys are quicker to judge than anyone else on this earth. Heres an idea, wait for the film to come out then bash it, oh an keep in mind it is a FAN-FILM and not a major Hollywood production so dont set your expectations to high.

"Ali Noels"

Really?

Why even bother with an anagram of LOIS LANE? Are they trying to smokescreen or something?

Well at least the Fan films and TV can cast lois lane correctly !! The big budget films like superman returns and superman MoS seem to be lost and have no clue in casting lois lane.

Funny how the actress above actually looks like the character drawn in the comics books.

@grif

My thoughts exactly re: the title.

Do they even know what the word "requiem" means? It would imply that someone is going to die but I'd wager that it was chosen simply because it 'sounds cool'. Whatever the case, it doesn't belong on the other side of a colon from "Superman."

Fan films... 9 times out of 10 they're nothing more than jerk-off exercises for wannabe 'filmakers'.
