"Man of Steel, yeah. It's a reboot of the franchise with Zack Snyder who did the 300 film and a young English fellow name Henry Cavill. Superman or Kal-el as I would call him because he's my son - times have changed, I'm Superman's dad....To be able to find out that at his core and center that he has that sort of humility is a wonderful moment. "

LOL Funny interview, and YES,this movie has an amazing cast I'd say the worst actor cast in that movie is Costner and he'll probably be in only a few scenes so whatever.

Careful what you wager....

@KnightofSteel
What's so cool about J'onn is that his secret identities can be ANYONE he chooses. If they wanted, they could make John Jones the black cop like on Smallville, or he could be an actress, a nurse, paramedic, fireman, etc... He's the very definition of an everyman. That he's such an adaptable character makes him all the easier to bring to the big screen.

I really liked Levi's post credits scene. It honestly (despite my dislike for and lack of a lot of knowledge of the DC universe outside of the basics) would peak my interest and get me excited.

Tainted87
Tainted87 - 2/26/2013, 11:34 AM
Hey hey lets not start bashing Marc to make Bats look better: they are completely different characters with the only thing in common being that they are self-made heroes... Moon Knight's an actual psycopath though.

I doubt there'll be any cameos, as awesome as they'd be. Snyder wants to make SUPERMAN, not fanboy appeasement. And if Watchmen is any indication, it's going to get every fanboy excited when they sit down to watch it.

If there is a cameo though, I hope it's a stretching shot of Kandor with a wide pan revealing that it's trapped in a bottle, and Brainiac comes into view with his back turned to his specimen. The shot would end with a Lichtenstein frame of Brainiac's face, looking up from his work and into the camera.

All I can hope for is "I AM Clark, Superman is what I do". If they make that, I'll be happy with this film.
Tainted87
Tainted87 - 2/26/2013, 12:28 PM
I hope so. Brainiac is my favorite DC villain. It'd be a waste to re-do Krypton's fate and NOT explore Kandor and Brainiac. Also it sets the stage for a greater exploration of the more distant parts of the DC universe through Brainiac's various "samples".
I've always seen him as a portal for larger stories: with his collected information: like a devil figure who will trick others into helping him in exchange for "secrets".

Brainiac would be soooo cool on screen. If they ever do it, I hop he is emotion-less like KnightofSteel said. When I read comics with him in them, I imagine him sounding like a robot.

Bullied as a teen? Well, that's a sign that they're following the comics...

I never understood why they always portrayed Jor-El as an old man. Superman:TAS did it right, they made him and his wife young. Who the hell waits til they're 50 to have their first child? I get the whole wise look and everything but it still bothers me.

But if any old guy had to play Jor-El I'm glad its Russell Crowe.

Russell Crowe is a BAWSE.

@jCameron

For a guy that whines about how "generic" Marvel movies are, it's weird that your favorite is the most generic one, The Incredible Hulk. Which is why it's my LEAST favorite Marvel Studios movie.

And your screenname....couldn't get more generic than that in the last 15 years, lol.

EdgyOutsider - 2/27/2013, 7:09 AM
@KnightofSteel: So, I guess I'm a poor man if I prefer Marvel over DC, Thanos over Darkseid or Civil War over Kingdom Come? I don't do it in a way to bash. I'm just asking.

@jcameron: I think it's funny you call Marvel's movies generic when DC has put out crap movies for all their characters. Not all their movies are crap but, most of their movies have been (not including the animated, those ones are decent).
