Some Celebrities can be kind of nerve wrecking to meet because you don’t know how they will respond to their fans and how welcoming they can be. I am happy to report that Sam Huntington is as warm and inviting in person as he is on the screen. His sense of humor is just as sharp and he is very friendly. When The Gorgeous Geeks interviewed Sam Witwer, his description of his cast mate was spot on when he said, “He’s a real sweetheart. He’s a really nice guy.”

Sam Huntington’s transportation to the Superman Celebration was actually delayed, causing him to miss a couple hours of his scheduled signings. But being the nice guy that he is, he decided to stay an extra day to make up for lost time. We caught Sam on Sunday Morning, June 12th right before his signing sessions was supposed to begin.

He greeted us and everyone in the room with a friendly wave and then walked right up to us. After another friendly greeting we got right into the interview.

KATRINA: Katrina from The Gorgeous Geeks standing here next to the one and only Sam Huntington.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Hi!

KATRINA: I am so honored to be interviewing you especially since, when I was 12 years old I had the biggest crush on you after watching Jungle2Jungle.

SAM HUNTINGTON: You know what’s weird? I had the biggest crush on you when I was 12 years old (Katrina laughs) and I didn’t even know you. It’s strange. Strange. Well thank you.

KATRINA: Oh thank you.

SAM HUNTINGTON: I’m sorry I’m not 12 years old anymore.

KATRINA: It’s good to grow up though.

SAM HUNTINGTON: I wish I felt the same way. I sometimes wish I was still 12.

KATRINA: Ok. (Sam laughs) So here we are at the Superman Celebration. How does it feel to forever be caught up in the hype of it all? Because you’re gonna have fans for the rest of your life for doing Superman.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Yeah it’s the best! You know I have been a fan of Superman my entire life. And the legacy of it is tremendous. It’s a huge honor to be a part of that family. So it’s amazing.

KATRINA: OK. Being Human, I love the show.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Oh Great!

KATRINA: Love what you guys are doing.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Good!

KATRINA: Can you give us any spoilers of what’s gonna happen next season?

SAM HUNTINGTON: I wish I knew…anything! Like I know nothing. They have told us nothing. We start shooting in a month and literally they could kill me off the first episode. So I have no idea what’s gonna happen. They won’t tell us anything.

KATRINA: What you like to see happen; with the show or specifically with Josh?

SAM HUNTINGTON: I couldn’t even begin to open that door. There’s so much that could happen. There’s a lot in Josh’s past that I think could come back to haunt him. His fiancé, his medical background. Either haunt him or create a new path. So I’m just curious to see what they come up with. And then also needless to say there’s Nora. And what’s gonna happen there. So yeah, I don’t know.

KATRINA: Well Christina actually interviewed Sam Witwer a couple months ago and he said that the whole cast including himself, are all a bunch of geeks.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Yeah. We’re ridiculous. You can’t tell? Have you watched any of like the videos online of us being idiots?

KATRINA: Yeah I have.

SAM HUNTINGTON: We’re idiots. And Witwer though, to his credit, is by far and away the geekiest of all of us. He is like…a little scary. It’s like verging on like too much. No, he’s an amazing guy. It’s like amazing he’s like this shredded action figure dude and like all he does is sit at home (and) play video games. So it’s kind of amazing.

KATRINA: So how would you describe each one of your cast members?

SAM HUNTINGTON: @$&holes…I think that encompasses both of them. That’s good enough. That’ll do. Uh, no. They’re amazing. They’re an inspiration to me. To be honest when I work with new people…it’s always nice to meet new people, but you’re not always like wholly impressed with everyone you’re working with, and on this show I can say that every single person, both in the cast and the crew, and above the line, the producers and Syfy, everyone, are like amazing. I don’t wanna do anything to mess it up. I just love it so much. So very lucky.

KATRINA: So what would you say to all the people that are kind of hesitant to watch the show because there’s so many vampire and werewolf stories that are out there now?

SAM HUNTINGTON: It’s not a vampire werewolf story. It’s a story about 3 people who happen to be vampires and werewolves and ghosts. In all seriousness though…that’s what’s different about the show is that it’s grounded in this reality and it’s about these people that who are struggling with afflictions. And those afflictions just happened to be that they’re supernatural beings. But that’s what’s interesting to me about it. And my favorite parts of the show are just when we’re sitting around at the breakfast table just talking. That’s what interesting to me and then you remember, you’re like “Oh yeah that guy’s a werewolf”! It’s kind of funny.

KATRINA: Well I love the show I just hope it goes on forever.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Me too.

KATRINA: Cuz I absolutely love it.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Thank you.

KATRINA: So thank you so much for taking this time out.

SAM HUNTINGTON: Oh my gosh! My pleasure! Thank you. You guys are the best!

KATRINA: No you’re the best.

SAM HUNTINGTON. No, stop it. This was a treat. I’m so glad we go to speak to each other.

KATRINA: I am too.

After the interview, Sam talked to us some more and even showed us a picture and video of his gorgeous wife Rachel, and his beautiful 2 year old son, Charlie, who is already a pro at t-ball. We literally could have hung out with him all day. You can say what you want about Being Human, but one thing you can’t say is that the cast is un-friendly.
