Hey i thought this post was about Smallville not Supermike. If you guys keep responding to what he says and keep calling him an ass hole he's just going to like it and keep being an ass hole. Maybe you should wait to call him an ass hole after he says something retarded, and he does most of the time so you don't have to wait long.

On a better note this season sounds like its going to be bad ass and be a good come back from the shit ending that was season 8.

Hey, I agree Watchtower31. I think it would be great if people commented on what Callum had to say about Zod and whether or not it sounds intriguing. Everyone can keep on bashing each other, but what's the point?

Hey, no apologies necessary. I just know that these things tend to get sidetracked, and I really am curious if what this guy says gets anyone into the idea of giving the show another chance, or if they feel like it's been too disappointing to them.

Truthfully, I had come to a point about midway through last season, where I'd had enough. I just didn't feel like the show was going anywhere and continued to retread familiar ground. However, sitting next to the producers and the cast at Comic-Con, hearing their plans and just seeing Welling with the "S" adorning his chest....well, that's the problem with being a lifelong Superman fan. I'll definitely be there to check it out and hope that it all doesn't end up disappointing.

ed. here is my theory about the show and tell me what you think. i get the impression that the creators never expected it to go this long. i think they were only planning a few seasons. but then it took off and they had to scramble to stretch out the time between superboy and superman. this has caused them to add characters too early in the mythos, and thats why there stuck with no glasses no suit etc.....i truly think they just didnt plan that far ahead.

Superdog @ I was saying that from the start of the show! Im sure though WB TV has planned it too, but i bet its stupid! As soon as CLARK started hanging in METROPOLIS he should've wore the glasses, oh well, an i was never happy LOIS coming to SMALLVILLE (as in town, though i got over it lol).

Im just hoping its much better than last season, if not, it wont be worth watching, an the funny thing is, until last season, SMALLVILLE was my fav show!

Smallville obviously has lasted MUCH longer than anyone expected it to. That being said, they should have adjusted to the longevity and moved away from the teen angst sooner. Embracing the Superman mythos on a more consistent and logical basis would NOT have alienated the show's audience. While it's well known that we would never actually see Clark in the Superman uniform, the last few years really should have been driving towards Clark's destiny instead of taking two steps forward and three steps back. Now it feels like they are taking this approach and whether people like the trench coat look or not, it's at least a forward progression and Clark is wearing the "S". Bottom line is this: whatever the disappointments have been, they still have the opportunity to turn the tide, to kick ass in season nine and 10 (if it goes another year). If they're willing to take some chances (and I know that it's a big if), I believe that Smallville can be everything the fans want it to be.

Just an opinion.

Ed@ do you know if there are legal issues with moving the mythology? Are they not allowed to show the suit and stuff, using the name etc? Why would be allowed to do a superman show but then have restrictions on what they could use?

Right there is the reason I love Smallville! Im still waiting on news for the episode where Chloe and Lois are both infected by Red Kryptonite and they fall for each other! lol Anything is better than Lana returning (unless she wants to join in lol)

But seriously Tom Welling rocks and the rest of the cast are great in their roles. And when it comes to liking or hating Smallville, both the haters and the lovers of Smallville should wait for the first two episodes of Season 9 to judge Smallville. If it hasnt caught your attention and love by then, the rest of the season is going to suck!

Wow, so kids we have learnt that Smallville and marraige are basically the same thing. I dont think I wanna get married ever now! lol

And Teabag I retract my statement, if you have gone through nine years of torture at Smallville's hands well then, your right to give up hope! With every season that goes by, Im starting to understand why you dont like it lol
