As previously scooped, it has been revealed that filming on Aurora is due to start soon, and also becomes an indirect confirmation that the push-back of the release date does not affect the filming process. Thanks to The Superman Homepage, check out the details below:

This week, the staff working on "Man of Steel" set up offices and trailers on the city's far East Side. A publicist at the site said a former executive office building will be used as the home base to coordinate shooting for the latest version of Superman. Supplies and personnel will be coordinated through the Aurora location for shoots around the Chicago area, including in Plano.

The crew could be in Aurora for about six weeks. Any shoots are expected to closed to the public. Crew members warned the public that there won't have much to look at if they show up at different locations, which will be kept secret.

On Thursday, cones lined Executive Drive and several yellow signs - labeled "Autumn Frost", the movie's shooting name - were posted on trees and signs.

Directed by Zack Snyder, The Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, and Kevin Costner, and is set to fly into theaters on June 14, 2013.

Aurora Illinois? It's party time, it's excellent. Does this mean there might be a cameo by Wayne and Garth? Party on Wayne. Party on Garth. Shwing!

They have waaaaay too much time to work on this movie, so I really am hoping they don't fu*k this up.

This guy deserves at least a decent film.

@GDSUPERGUY- Thanks for the shoutout dude.

As Snyder pointed out...Superman is on life-support. I really hope Snyder understands then what needs to be done in this film. Superman needs a good story (no stalking please) he needs decent ACTION for a change, let the big guy throw down with a worthy adversary for once (he never fought in SR and didn't even fight much in Smallville) I would love to see Superman's first punch thrown to be within the classic vein of Snyder's films- slow-motion punch, then the rest of the fight be brilliantly coreographed (i don't want every single fight scene in slow-mo) but just use the slow-mo in certain parts of the fights, like i said- i think Superman's very first punch in the film should be slow-mo just to give the audience that sense of "WHOA..." then when his punch makes contact with Zod, I wanna see the sheer pain and agony in Zod's face as he's sent hurtling through some buildings.

I want the fight to be something like that...something we've never seen before in a Superman film.

keeping these guys as far away from production as possible is also a great sign for this film- Donner, Singer, Routh, Welling, Petersen and Souders blech!

Snyder, Nolan brothers, Goyer, Kurt Johnstad, Cavill and all the other academy award winners on the cast and A-list actors, is also a great sign for this film.

This film should own...as long as WB allow Snyder and Nolan to do their thing.

Martin Campbell was too weak to tell WB to go [frick] themselves and let him do his film. Nolan on the other hand doesn't let WB dictate him. He told them he wants it done HIS way for the Bat-films and they let him do his thing. That is why I'm very thankful Nolan is the producer on this movie, maybe he can tell WB to screw off and let him and Snyder do their thing.

@superman78- Sorry man but I think it partially has to do with the fact that all year long, GDSUPERGUY and I have been battling all the Routh-bootists. All year long we've been fighting on this site for a proper reboot for Superman.

If I remember correctly you were one of the people who wanted Routh to return AND you defended Superman Returns.

You may be a fan of Superman but you aren't on the same side of the fence as GDSUPERGUY and I.

Again no offense.

GDSUPERGUY's basic point is, we three- him, JULEZ and myself never wanted Routh back and we never wanted the REBOOT to dovetail Superman Returns.

Reason being?

Doing those things could only cause further damage to Superman. Bringing Routh back would have been bad- first off he lacks the range of emotions needed for a role like Superman AND bringing him back as Superman, the general audience wouldn't see the film as a reboot but would instead view it more as a sequel to that dreadful SR film. Thus affecting the film and ticket-sales.

So to those who wanted Routh to return...I know their hearts were in the right place but they were fighting for something that was seriously the WRONG approach for Superman. And they call themselves FANS.

Superman needs a...ok get this...- FRESH. NEW. START.

See?

We're finally getting that with this film. And that is something GDSUPERGUY pointed out that him, myself and JULEZ had always wanted from the very start.

I can list many others though on this site who've wanted a fresh new start for Superman- Knightstalker, Steelrocks30, KeithM and the list goes on and on...

@GODDAMNSUPERGUY: Thanks for the shout out! Appreciate it! X )

@LP4: Love your idea about the first punch being in slo-mo along with Zod's expression of agony as he gets punched in the face. I can picture that in my head and DAMN, THAT SHIT WOULD BE FRICKIN COOL AS HELL!! And that is the reason why I wanted Snyder for this film, that is what he's known for and is what I expect. He said he won't over do it though, which is a good thing, but it's Superman. Dragon Ball Z always had the best fight scenes and I always pictured superheroes fighting that way so I hope we get something like that.

As for Brandon Routh?!? psshhh.... Don't even get me started cuz then I won't be able to stop, lol. All I'ma say is, WTF was up with those eyebrows?!? They couldn't at least touch them up a little bit?!? I know he's not a good looking guy and it wouldn't help much anyway but damn dat shit was annoying!!

"As Snyder pointed out...Superman is on life-support. I really hope Snyder understands then what needs to be done in this film."

Supes is definitely on life support, especially with the crappy rebooting of his character by DC. They couldn't be any more desperate to try and figure out how to write him so they completely changed him into an entirely different person.

Snyder will deliver, for the sake of the classic Superman we all grew up with and love.

He will because he has to.

@JULEZ- Why is it that I find myself agreeing with you and GDSUPERGUY almost every single time?

;D

Nice stuff and great post about the positives coming out of this film. As you said- Snyder is the 'chosen one' he will deliver.

=D

@LP4: Cuz we are right! Duh!! lol ;D
lol @Snyder is the chosen 1. He will deliver though, I can't wait. The only good thing about the push back date is that I would have graduated college by then and hopefully I'll be working for DC. They suck, they desperately need me to save them! lol I'm kinda hoping I get to take over on the sequel - if it'll happen since the court drama and all. =/ Or at least be a part of it. I already had my ideas for a trilogy, it would have been so epic. =(
I read about the odd stuff Christopher Reeve was involved in that you were talking about in a different article. Can you please tell me I have to know as a Superman fan. Or at least give me a link or email me? Por Favor? X}

@JULEZ- Hahahaha yeah we really are. We are bi-winning. LMAO.

Ah jesus, PLEASE get a job with DC and PLEASE if you get any involvement with a sequel to MOS PLEASE give us the real Lex Luthor. The exclusion of Lex breaks my heart.

Yes I will P.M you about the Chris thing. I just really...can't say what it is. I'm not a huge Chris Reeve fan but I just feel wrong about putting it out here about him.

I will P.M you about it though JULEZ.

Wait a minute. I thought they are delaying the release until summer of 2013. They are still going to start filming now? Not quite getting that.

JULEZ13 - 7/22/2011, 9:54 PM
@Ranger14: They moved the date back so they wouldn't have to compete with other guaranteed big hits, not to mention The Hobbit which has been a highly anticipated film for years and also being released by WB.

The move also give them more time to perfect the film and not have another disaster on their hands like Superman Returns or Green Lantern. The release date will also mark the 75 year anniversary of the first issue of Action Comics that was released in June or July (can't remember the exact month) 1938 which would be a great ploy for marketing the film, comics and every other type of Superman merchandise.

It's actually pretty logical when you step back and think about it from a studio stand point. The only thing now is that the pressure is on for this film to be great - not just acceptably "good."

@LP4: lol, thanx. But I kinda cheated - I read it from another post yesterday, someone actually stated that, lol. But the merchandising aspect was all me! lol Always thinking of new ways to make money! ;D
