Marvel's Thor has been shooting 50 days now, and is soon expected to began shooting in Santa Fe, New Mexico sometime this month. When they move, we may finally get some actual set pics. But until then, actress Jaimie Alexander, who'll star as Sif in the epic adventure, has been updating twitter almost daily, giving off minor news on the film.

Now that last tweet raises eyebrows. I thought only the earth portions of the film would be filmed in Santa Fe, revolving around Natalie Portman's, Kat Dennings's, & Stellan Skarsgard's characters. But with Jaimie's character, Sif an asgardian, going to Santa Fe too, that makes me believe that Marvel will be shooting some portions of Asgard in Santa Fe, New Mexico as well. What do you think?

You know what is great, actors who are enthusiastic in a Kenneth Branagh film especially his first comic book related film. I trust the actors' excitement for the film and such a worthy director. I Salute thy Marvel.

I wouldn't be surprised if some Asgard scenes are shot in Sante Fe, but I do know for a fact that Sif and the Warriors Three come to Midgard (or Earth) in search of Thor...

BIG SPOILER AHEAD!!! DON'T READ UNLESS YOU WANT TO KNOW!!!!

The final battle starts off in the small town Thor has adopted as his new home. Loki has assembled an army of trolls, elves, demons and frost giants to invade Earth... he even summons the Midgard Serpent!!! The reason Loki attacks the small town first is due to Thor being his only obstacle to total domination... Thor has Mjolnir after all, and Loki wishes to possess its power.

The battle eventually spills over into Asgard (think a much, much cooler version of the finale to 1987's "Masters of the Universe" movie starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella). I really don't think people realize how epic this movie will be.

Oh... by the way, I believe that Colm Feore is playing Surtur... although I'm not totally certain.

the santa fe area has some awesome mountains! i could see those being utilized for asgard. and the city is fairly large for the earth scenes. makes sense to me that they'd use a city like that for shooting.

Forsooth!!! I never thought much of Twitter but I can see how it can be useful now (that and the whole thing with the protests in the streets of Iran, but you can see how this is more important ...) Photo shoot! Did she really say (or tweet) photo shoot? Bring forth the mighty Asgardian pictures!!! Let us feast upon them with a warriors hunger for noble battle! Ok, I'm done now.

then the teaser trailer.
i think i'm begining to sway towards the thor movie over the green lantern at the moment.
i still see both of them,but i'm looking forward to thor more.

@gtrman & 48and... I cannot divulge that info... the production is on (extreme) lockdown... and I want to keep that channel open. All I can say is that the info I gave you is from a scriptment dated "11/24/09". Many things in THOR's plot may have changed since then (like the inclusion/exclusion of certain characters, hence the "Colm Feore as Surtur" speculation) but the way things (sound) as they are coming together in production, I wouldn't be surprised if the draft I read is legit.

I tell you what... read the J. Michael Straczynski Trade Paperbacks for a good idea where the THOR movie will be going (especially Vols 1-2)... the tone of the script I read seemed very close to that particular story run (especially the parts where the Asgardians interact with the human characters).

One last thing, in the scriptment when Thor says his famous "For Odin! For Asgard!" line... I got goosebumps. Thinking about it as I type this is giving me goosebumps again. It's on level with William Wallace's "Freedom" and Maximus' "I will have my vengeance". It's a very cool sequence.
