This is the way the Thor movie should be portrayed

Imagine, if you will, Lord of the rings in all its glory. Now imagine the Thor movie done in that type of setting.

I am a huge Thor fan so my opinions is most definately bias. That being said, when thinking of the Thor movie the only viable option in my opinion is a period piece. I get goose bumps just thinking of Thor, Baldur, Tyr, and Odin fighting iron clad in the age of the vikings to save Midgard (Earth) from impending doom. When I think of this I imagine the 13th warrior mixed with a bit of 300 and topped off with some lord of the rings. That is how the Thor story should be told, based on the mythology more than the comic.
The people in charge of creating the avengers movie will have ample time to figure out how to incorporate thor into that movie. For instance; are gods not immortal? Why not just create a reason for Thor to come back from Asgard once again to defend the human race in modern times.
As far as the actors playing these characters, I have some ideas about that as well. Thor could be played by brad pitt I guess, but not my first pick. I think possibly Tyler Mane (with some serious acting lessons) or even Vladimir Kulich from the 13th warrior. I dont know much about this guy but as far as looks James Preston Rogers is dead on. If he as the acting chops required to pull it off then is my #1 pic

Well thats just my opinion. I will also be giving movie reviews and news about various comicbook movies in upcoming articles. I hope you enjoy them.

I think that's a pretty rad idea. That could definitely work.
Personally, I would like to see a rebellious, arrogant Thor wreaking havoc in Asgard and Odin soundly beating him and "banishing" him to Midgard to teach him a lesson of humility and whatnot.

mostly cause I'd love to see Thor and Odin trade blows
it sure would make one epic friggin battle

not to mention that the story would be different from any other superhero movie I've seen
