THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Clip Features The Mighty Thor's Entrance, Mjolnir's New Powers, And Gorr's Minions

We've been treated to a lot of Thor: Love and Thunder clips these past few days, but you might want to turn away now if The Mighty Thor's entrance is a moment you'd rather experience for the first time on the big screen!

In the footage below, we see the God of Thunder attempting to summon Mjolnir as New Asgard comes under attack from some terrifying monsters. They definitely appear to be Gorr the God Butcher's minions as the creatures look near identical to the followers he creates in the comic books using the power of the Necrosword.

Initially, Mjolnir makes its way to Thor, only to suddenly move away from him and into the waiting hand of Jane Foster as The Mighty Thor.

She proceeds to kick a lot of ass, showcasing Mjolnir's new ability to shatter itself, attack its foes, and then reassemble. That's definitely something we haven't seen before, and a visual that looks pretty amazing in motion. Needless to say, we expect the hammer to have plenty of new tricks up its, uh, handle in Thor: Love and Thunder

Comic book writer Jason Aaron, who co-created The Mighty Thor and Gorr, recently confirmed that he consulted on the movie, saying he's "super excited about everything I've seen about the way they're handling it." That's a pretty solid endorsement and one that hopefully bodes well for the Thor: Ragnarok sequel.

Check out this new clip from Thor: Love and Thunder below:

The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.
