Thor: Love and Thunder's take on Gorr the God Butcher was a tad underwhelming, though the villain became a little more relatable thanks to the love he had for his late daughter.
Brought back to life by Eternity, the girl appears to be immensely powerful and is named "Love." In the movie's closing moments, she's shown wielding Stormbreaker and leaping into action alongside Thor, her new adoptive father and mentor.
Funnily enough, Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, plays the character and we're assuming Love will join the God of Thunder on his future adventures (though, as she's a largely original creation for the MCU, it's hard to say where her story is heading).
Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park recently shared some of his alternate designs for Love and, as you can see in the video below, the child of Gorr very nearly donned a Thor-inspired superhero costume!
We can't help but be disappointed about that not being used here, though there's always time for her to suit up down the line. As for when and where she'll appear, that's hard to say, especially as Thor 5 hasn't been confirmed yet (and may not be after the mixed reaction to Thor: Love and Thunder).
Check out this new concept art from the movie below.
The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods.
To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.
Thor: Love and Thunder is now streaming on Disney+.
