Marvel Studios has really kicked the Thor: Love and Thunder promotion into high gear now, as more and more footage from Taika Waititi's Ragnarok follow-up finds its way online in the buildup to the movie's release. Still nothing too spoilery (somewhat surprisingly), but we'll see how long that lasts!
You're safe enough with this new featurette, anyway, which spotlights some behind-the-scenes shots and interviews with Waititi and the main cast as they have fun on set, as well as a few snippets of brand-new footage from the movie itself.
We see Jane Foster's Might Thor (Natalie Portman) greeting her old flame (Chris Hemsworth) in the midst of battle, Thor and Korg (Waititi) encountering giant goats Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder (who like a good scream), and more.
Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
