Thor: Love and Thunder is fast approaching, and thanks to Total Film, we have a new look at Taika Waititi's highly anticipated Thor: Ragnarok sequel.
As you can see below, Natalie Portman is shown suited up as The Mighty Thor, looking every bit the superhero. We're used to seeing her as a scientist in the MCU, and this transformation remains one of this movie's most intriguing developments. There's also a very cool shot of a buff Chris Hemsworth in his Ravager gear aboard the Guardians of the Galaxy's ship.
Talking of those space-faring heroes, a chilled-out God of Thunder is shown conversing with Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff), presumably sometime before they part ways.
There's no sign of Gorr the God Butcher, though Marvel Studios has kept Christian Bale's villain under wraps for the most part. It sounds like he'll be worth the wait, though, as Waititi recently revealed that as well as being "the most sympathetic villain they've had," Gorr has "also tested the highest out of any villain that Marvel's had."
Take a look at these new Thor: Love and Thunder stills below:
The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.
