Over the weekend, we learned that the next trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder will be released during tonight's NBA Playoffs on ABC. We anticipate it dropping during Game 4 of the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics sometime after 8.30pm ET.
This sneak peek is heading our way a little sooner than expected, as it wasn't too long ago we got the first teaser for the Thor: Ragnarok sequel. The hope is that Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher will be front and centre alongside The Mighty Thor, but the original God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, has now taken to social media to hype up what sounds like an epic preview.
"The official trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder is out tomorrow," Hemsworth starts off by reminding us. "Do not miss it, spread the word, spread the love. This trailer is gonna blow your mind. It is something that I am so, so proud of." Describing the movie as "incredible," he'd add that "[this movie] the greatest thing I have ever had the pleasure and honor of working on."
That's high praise indeed and it definitely sounds like we're in store for a special movie with Thor: Love and Thunder. Unlike Eternals and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, no real plot details have leaked online, so we're anticipating heading into this one and seeing some big surprises.
Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.
