With a little over two weeks until Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters, Marvel Studios has just dropped another new batch of official images from Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok sequel.
Some of these will be familiar to you as they were recently revealed by various publications, but we can now share them minus any pesky watermarks. There are also some never-before-seen shots from the blockbuster, with King Valkyrie and Ravager Thor both receiving the spotlight.
We're definitely intrigued by what King Valkyrie is up to here, and that new armour is seriously cool. However, it looks like she ditches that outfit for a Phantom of the Opera sweater during what we're guessing is an epic battle that takes place in New Asgard.
The God of Thunder looks similarly awesome in his Ravager gear, but Tessa Thompson recently confirmed that Valkyrie won't share any scenes with Thor's fellow Guardians of the Galaxy. "I just came to set to watch," she told Fandango while discussing Waititi's love of improvisation on set, "because I wasn’t in any of the Guardian stuff and I don’t remember which of them said it to me, but someone asked me, 'Is it always like this?' I was like, 'Yes, it is.'"
We'll no doubt have plenty of Thor: Love and Thunder content to share with you over the next couple of weeks, but reviews for the movie won't drop until July 6. However, the social embargo is next week, so we'll soon find out how critics feel about this latest adventure for the Odinson.
Check out these new Thor: Love and Thunder stills below:
The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.
