Confirming recent reports, Marvel Studios has officially announced that tickets for Thor: Love and Thunder are set to go on sale this Monday, and we have a fun new TV spot to accompany the news.
The promo begins with a jovial God of Thunder dropping in mid-battle, as members of the Guardians of the Galaxy are pinned down and in fear for their lives. We see Drax, Rocket ("you said this would be a relaxing holiday!") and Nebula in action, as well as some new shots of Valkyrie facing-off with Gorr the God Butcher, and Jane Foster's Mighty Thor reconnecting with her former lover.
The teaser concludes with another look at Zeus "flicking" Thor's clothes off (don't say we never cater to the ladies here on CBM).
We may get another full trailer on Monday, but for now, check out this new footage below and let us know what you think.
Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
