With a couple of weeks to go before Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters, Marvel Studios has just dropped an exciting new trailer for the movie. Clocking in at around a minute, it shows the God of Thunder attempting to inspire the citizens of New Asgard...before Miek rudely interrupts the hero.
This is actually our best look yet at the character we first met in Thor: Ragnarok, and she(?) looks a lot different these days. It's an intriguing development, and one we're excited to see further explored in the movie itself.
Elsewhere in this sneak peek, Thor races into battle alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy and there are some great shots of Christian Bale's sinister Gorr the God Butcher. We've heard nothing but good things about what the actor brings to the table as that villain, and it certainly looks like he'll push Thor to his limits when they cross paths here.
Of course, the Odinson will have a helping hand from Jane Foster, a.k.a. the Mighty Thor, though it's the original God of Thunder who gets most of the spotlight in this latest preview. We anticipate them receiving equal billing, but we're sure many fans will be pleased to see more of Thor as his story continues to play out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.
