After what seemed like an eternity, Marvel Studios finally debuted the first footage from Thor: Love and Thunder yesterday, and the teaser has already been viewed a mighty 209 million times across all digital platforms.
The first trailer for Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok follow-up didn't quite manage to catch MCU heavy-hitters Avengers: Infinity War (230 million) and Avengers: Endgame (289 million), and didn't come close to reigning champ Spider-Man: No Way Home (355.5 million), but this is still a very impressive feat.
Set to Guns N’ Roses’ classic, “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” the colorful, light-hearted preview was light on major reveals, but it did give fans plenty to talk about and featured our first live-action look at Natalie Portman's Jane Foster suited-up as The Mighty Thor (you can check out a full breakdown here).

Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
