The first TV spot for Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder has been shared online, and while this latest look at the Marvel Studios adventure doesn't appear to feature any new footage (maybe a slightly extended shot of Jane Foster landing at the start?), it does include some new dialogue from Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher.
The villain made his distain for all deities very clear in the recent trailer, and can be heard to state that "the world will be better without Gods" in this teaser.
No official runtime for the movie has been announced, but we're hearing it will be 120 minutes. It has been confirmed that the social media embargo for Love and Thunder will lift on June 23, with full reviews to follow on July 5.
Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
