Do THOR: RAGNAROK's Loki And Valkyrie Actually Have Romantic Tension?

A few days ago, a mysterious photo of Loki and Valkyrie having a small disagreement involving knives surfaced and thanks to EW we now have some (intriguing) context for the Thor: Ragnarok scene.

It seems that leaked photo a few days ago of Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie and Tom Hiddleston's Loki engaging in a bit of knife fighting actually had some romantic implications? Most fans assumed Valkyrie was being brought into the Thor franchise as a new love interest for Chris Hemsworth's Thor but what if she's actually to be paired with the God of Mischief?

Speaking to EW, Thomspon says her character and Loki actually have a lot in common at first glance. "Eventually she figures out Lok’s not to be trusted. I just think there’s something about two folks that kind of come from the same place in a sense, that have the same chip on their shoulder in a way. There’s a thin line between how much they hate and love each other."

With so little known about Valkyrie's backstory it's hard to determine whether this love/hate relationship existed before she departed Asgard or whether Loki and Valkyrie are meeting for the first time on the  Taika Waititi orchestrated adventure.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3.

I'm very intrigued to see where Loki ends up when all is done with Infinity War. It almost seems like he could end up on a redeeming path but then he slips back into his mischievous ways so who knows.

@smgmayhem - Maybe he falls for Valkyrie. She dies and Loki agrees to work for Thanos in order to bring her back?

@MarkJulian - There was a theory that floated around and I can't remember the user who first threw it out there but they theorized that Loki was the real catalyst to the formation of the Avengers for the sole reason that he knew Thanos would be a big threat down the line and they would be the only ones to stop him. I would love if this came to fruition because it would bring both his and Thor's character arcs to a great end point.

@MarkJulian - She doesn't die. She has filmed scenes with Chris and Rocket.

What if Valkyrie is actually Enchantress in disguise?

@MarkJulian - Hmm... Never thought about that before- I like it! As soon as we find out when/why she left Asgard, I think we'll have a better idea.

also EVENTUALLY she realizes Loki is not to be trusted?! Hes been the villain for 3 movies before this one. This guy has not only tried to destroy attempted to destroy and entire planet, but take over 2 (one of them twice and the second time succeeded), laigned himslef with the most dangerous being in the known universe who is basically the personification of death, and NOW people are learning not to trust him? Lol shouldnt the entire universe know about him by now?!

The only thing I wonder is if this valkyrie is brunnhilde, if not they can expand upon this character as freely as they like

@malsemarcel - I believe she is playing Brunhilde. I liked the idea that someone threw out that she could be related to Heimdall in some way.

No! Don't do it Marvel! Don't crush the sexual fantasies of teenage fangirls everywhere by making Loki unavailable!

@McGee - And then they will start saying that they "ship" them or whatever the hell kids say these days. Either way, Loki needs love too!!!
