Does Having The Hulk vs Thor Fight In RAGNAROK Described As A Classic Matchup Make You Feel Giddy?

Taika Waititi says he strove to make the fights in Ragnarok feel like the old school Marvel battles and that the mindset during the film's development was reminiscent of kids playing in a sand box.

With director Taika Waititi describing the fights in Thor: Ragnarok as having a classic feel, it looks as if we'll be getting something akin to their brief dust-up in the first Avengers film on the Helicarrier.  Only this time, they'll be in an arena filled with bloodthirsty alien spectators.  Oh, and the Odinson won't have Mjölnir at his side as confirmed by the new synopsis for the film, recently released by Marvel.

"I like it when characters have to deal with their biggest test," said Waititi on Thor's perilous journey.  "It feels like a classic matchup where you go, ‘Who else can we put in this? Let’s put in the Hulk!’ It’s like kids in the sand pit, throwing everything in."

It seems like while Thor is away, Heimdall and the rest of Asgard will be under attack from Cate Blanchett's Hela, who the director describes as "scary and powerful but also fun."  Will Thor be able to return in time to save the day or will Asgard truly fall?  There's definitely a precedent for it as the celestial home of the Norse gods has been annihilated on several occasions.

Thor: Ragnarok arrives in theaters on November 3, 2017.

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk!
