Here's Why Natalie Portman's Jane Foster Won't Be Making An Appearance In THOR: RAGNAROK

The first two Thor movies revolved around the God of Thunder's relationship with Jane Foster, but the character's absence was explained with a throwaway line in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Since then, we've learned that she won't be making an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok, but why not? Well, Entertainment Weekly has the answer and it's a pretty straightforward one; Thor and Jane have broken up!

"He’s off exploring the universe, still trying to police it and control the mayhem," Chris Hemsworth says of what Thor has been up to since we last saw him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "But he’s certainly enjoying being a drifter, being a solo cowboy out there." However, it very much sounds like the Asgardian hero's sights could be set on an entirely new love interest this November. Valkyrie!

"We wanted Thor to encounter somebody that was near his equal and that his relationship with Jane may have evolved in unexpected ways in between The Dark World and Ragnarok and we wanted to pit him against a character who was much more his equal and in many ways his superior," adds Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about what's next for the God of Thunder. "Valkyrie is trying to not embrace any sort of Asgardian heritage that she has. Thor thinks maybe that will create a bond between them and, on the contrary, she wants to forget it all entirely."

Never cared for her character.

@Doomsday8888 - she turned into dead weight. The original Thor was made before CBM's and MCU particularly took off. Movie Execs believed there had to be some kind of female love interest in order to get the girls to go and enjoy the movie. We are now well past that.
